after a beautiful 4 mile round hike, which has stopped the canal and nature reserve attenborough long on liquid refreshments. great location and great selection of beer. shipstones gold star and welbeck abbey harley were excellent.

Nice place to stop and have a drink. The pub is just as interesting inside as it is outside. Wonderful watching boats go through the lock, or doing inside and seeing the interesting decor. They welcome well behaved dogs too. Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

what a pub! excellent service, great selection of drinks. always friendly staff with great sharpener. big ales and always try something new. cider is hansom! eating is also really good. good quality ingredients. all around a crisp pub, oh and super dog friendly, welcome to both inside and outside!

my wife and I had our wedding party here yesterday. natalie (landlady) and the whole staff have made us a great job. eating was nice, the drink selection was good and the staff was well organized and very attentive. consider this place for parties because we are glad that we did. location was great for photos and pleasant through the water. I couldn't be happier. many thanks for helping to make our day so pleasant; you were great.

We didn't eat here but of what food I saw it looked good. The service was excellent and plenty of locals made the atmosphere welcoming. Dogs are allowed with plenty of outside seating. As you can see from photos some unusual guests inside. Parking: I don't have a car but saw cars parked around the area. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a slope leading to the pub so easy for wheelchair access and prams etc. Price per person: £1–10

my own and my hubby often come here and we think it's wonderful. the staff, the cook, the renter and the local are beautiful and they are always welcome. eating is also beautiful and cheap. we had to wait a long time, once due to a mistake (it happens that they are only a human) and the renter paid for our drinks for our stay, the cook came apologising and asked us if we still want our meal or want an alternative etc. and the merciful came to us and gave us a good certificate for our next meal. they didn't have to do that! we only asked about our meal when others were and went and we sat there. we were happy to wait, but, they went out of their way to try our visit, the best thing it could b...
