"We started with two cocktails: Frozen Watermelons and Better Than Blue Lagoon. Both were visually appealing and colorful, but the flavors were somewhat mild and a bit too sweet for our liking. We also had some bread with mackerel pâté, which had a strong flavor that we enjoyed, though it might not appeal to everyone. For our main courses, we ordered the seafood platter and steak with fries. The seafood platter included mussels, clams, shrimp, lobster legs, and scallops. Considering the price, we expected a larger portion, and while the seafood was fresh, we’ve certainly had tastier options elsewhere. The steak was decent—not a prime cut—but the flavor was acceptable. The fries were enjoyable, though. We paired our meal with a nice cold bottle of white wine, which was crisp and refreshing. The restaurant boasts lovely views of the sunshine streaming in; while it's not directly on the beach, the scenery is pleasant. The staff were friendly and accommodating, but the seating was a bit uncomfortable after a while due to the hard chairs and benches. On the upside, it's dog-friendly. In the end, we spent around £120, which felt a bit steep for what we received. The food was quite average at best, making for a satisfactory dinner but nothing more. While we were glad we tried it once, we chose not to return on subsequent nights. Ultimately, it seemed to present a more upscale image than it truly delivered, especially in terms of food quality."

Great location, right near the beach. Dog friendly. Plenty of outdoor seating for the warmer weather. It always, seems busy inside too, although we've never eaten here.

The staff were very friendly. I had a pleasant and quick light lunch in the airy restaurant with windows that offered a view of the beach (to some extent). Service: 4/5 Location: 4/5.

The service was truly wonderful and authentic, with great decor and excellent food. They were very attentive to our needs, especially since we had kids with us, providing extra plates and coloring sheets. I also enjoyed a nice pint of Heineken. View menu

This is a lovely spot to enjoy a beer after a day at the beach, and their homemade cake is delightful as well. The food prices are generally higher than at local pubs located away from the main tourist zones. It's worth noting that they strictly enforce the Challenge 21 policy—no ID means no drinks!

I just returned from a Mothering Sunday lunch and wanted to leave a review to express my gratitude for our experience at Mothertagessen. It was wonderful, as always! Unfortunately, I didn’t catch the name of our waitress, but she was exceptional, assisting us during a challenging situation with my oldest child and sorting out some macaroni and cheese. Kudos to the chefs who handled a busy day so well. I highly recommend this place to everyone; they also have some great vegan options! View menu

The Unicorn has gone through a huge change in the last couple of years. It 's always been a bit of an unsure place but this is amazing. The current owners have done a wonderful job with he decor (It always felt a bit 'grotty ' inside). Now it is lovely and light, beautiful furnishings and just the whole feel about the place is so welcoming. The food is amazing too. Burger was spectacular. The trout was amazing. Desserts were gorgeous. The staff were super friendly and helpful and willing to chit chat with us when we dillydallied when we couldn 't decide what to order. Helpful suggestions. Highly reccomend.

We were able to secure a last-minute reservation during our weekend visit to Cornwall, which was fantastic. The food and cocktail selection was impressive! We arrived at 5 o'clock, half an hour earlier than our booking, and although we appreciated their accommodation, the service was a bit slow and the prices felt somewhat high. The rump steak was £16 and the regular fries were £4. They would have been much tastier as chunky chips! Despite the long wait, the meal was ultimately satisfactory. There were a lot of "young people" on the plate, which was slightly off-putting, but I just brushed them aside with a napkin. My partner felt the same about his cocktails—he enjoyed two out of three, but...
