"Where do I start !! During covid my then Fiancée and I decided to look for a small wedding venue that would cater for smaller parties of 25 people. Unfortunately most venues refused us or wanted big money to accommodate a smaller group. We decided to try a local pub near by which we've eaten in many times. We spoke to Mike the owner of the whitehorse inn who was happy to accommodate us. We booked the whole pub and a 3 course meal for our guests from 11am to 6 pm with complete exclusivity. Mike and the whole team made our special day exactly that ! The Food here is of Gastro quality in my opinion and I think the owners of the establishment should have this stated on his premises/website. 20 starters came out steaming hot one after the other and it was exactly the same for all the other courses. All steaks were cooked to perfection too. I am very impressed with the quality of the food you certainly have gained my custom for years to come. The staff were excellent throughout the day too. The grounds are beautiful and we really appreciate the heart shaped bush you cut for us to make some great photo opportunities. The cost of all this was exceptional considering the quality of the food. All our guests had a blast and we can't thank you enough for making our day that extra special. Mike Viv"

The whole place was very cold, food not bad, but expensive for pub grub, the whole place was soleless. The only restaurant I have ever had to keep my coat on to eat and still very cold. Food was bearly acceptable but took 30+ minutes to arrive, we were on the brink of leaving and the food arrived

Highly recommended in every way. From initial booking of a large table (11) through to service on the day, great menu and drinks options (including AF) our visit was a very happy one. They even kindly gave us some butter (as the supermarket delivery missed it off) and some eye drops now that’s going above and beyond! Thank you White Horse team.

We visited again yesterday and really enjoyed our visit. The food was lovely and the atmosphere was very relaxed. One thing which really made it was the way the staff used our names when bringing out our orders, rather than saying what the food was. I wish more places did this as it makes it so much easier. Thank you again we hope to see you for Christmas 2023!

Arrived without a booking and they were very busy. They still fitted us in for an evening meal with a short wait. All the staff were very friendly and very efficient. There was an excellent menu; so much choice. The steak burgers and chips were delicious, with the puddings being out of this world. Atmosphere great with a large garden outside. Definitely worth a visit, we will be back!

As usual, excellent freshly prepared food and good friendly service. What set this visit apart was that one of our party had a number of food allergies, we explained these when we booked and the team were incredibly understanding, knowledgeable about the ingredients used and went out of their way to ensure nothing would spoil the meal. This extended to purchasing specific ingredients and double checking what can and cannot be used whilst taking the order.

Phenomenal food, this was the best dinner we’ve ever had, the beef melts in your mouth, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the deserts were amazing too, my wife had the “ Black Forest Sunday, she said it was the best she’s ever had, I had the Swiss chocolate ice cream with baileys and that was beautiful aswell, the only reason it’s not a 5 star, is the price, it was a bit expensive but, I suppose you get what you pay for. All in all, a great Sunday dinner, and the roast potatoes were perfect, light and fluffy inside. Cauliflower cheese, vegetables everything was top class.

OMG what a lovely pub, great food, lovely people and a great venue. We have been meaning to drop in for a meal for a long time, what have we been missing… A lot) there is someone in the kitchen who can truly cook. Lovely food delivered with a great smile and always someone returns to make sure it was all ok, such a trait that is missing these days)… A very nice selection of beers and spirits……the gin selection is just stunning for a country pub. Try the mushroom Croquet, it’s truly filling and so well presented. If your looking for a country pub with a great cook, you won’t be disappointed…..Open from Wed to Sun, you need to book for a Sunday lunch….so gooood…… don’t drive pass go in, be sur...

We visited the pub on Friday 23rd June on off chance of getting a table after arriving at Burnt House Farm where we were staying. We got there about 7-30 pm. The lady behind the bar was serving someone, so we waited. Upon finishing with them, she turned her back, totally ignoring us, and proceeded to do something. Eventually, after quite some time, she turned around and simply said, Yes. We asked if a table was available to which we got a simple no. We weren 't expecting a table to be available, but do expect some courtesy. We found the Lady 's attitude very rube and that made sure we didn 't book this pub for another night of our stay. A far cry from the welcoming at the Pack Horse Inn, the...

Several friends had recommended the White Horse Inn for food particularly steaks, but we 've never got around to it until now ..... It was my wife 's birthday she wanted to go somewhere local, but different from our usual places. It was well worth booking a table as the management like to schedule the cooking to cope with the appropriate number of diners. It 's a large pub with plenty of room outside in the gardens on a sunny day, so I imagine it could become very busy. My wife had the Cajun chicken I had the duck: this was one of the best meals I 've had for a long time washed down by a Bristol lager that I hadn 't come across before, but was allowed to sample before ordering. The crispy sk...

"Been wanting to try this ‘alternative’ pub for a while. Large car park with plenty of space, no steps or slopes into the bar. Access for buggies, wheelchairs etc should be okay, my mother walks with the aid of a frame and has no issues. Inside the decor is certainly alternative but in a great way, loved it! Plenty to look at, keep you entertained and talk about as you wait for your food or just pass the time. Staff were friendly and welcoming, there was just one guy running the bar, taking food orders and bringing food out; I thought he needed a helper or coworker really. There is a decent bar area with seating or there is more ‘restaurant’ style seating further back beyond the bar. We chose to sit in the bar area seating which is a mixture of booth and chairs. Dogs are allowed in which is great, there is free Wi-Fi which is good as my mobile signal was very poor. The menu is standard pub food, quite a bit of choice and plenty of options for gluten free. I chose to have the fillet steak cooked medium, I had a starter of garlic bread but chose for it all to come out together. Mother had beef brisket loaded fries, the portion was massive so I had to help her finish it. The steak was perfectly cooked, I chose to have the peppercorn sauce; this was a bit watery and bland. The steak comes with chunky chips, peas, mushrooms, tomatoes and onion rings. For dessert I had the nutty apple crumble with ice cream, it was okay. Overall this is a great venue with acceptable food, friendly staff and awesome decor that will keep you talking and looking all night. Based on this experience I would visit again."
