"Booked a table for an early (not open for lunch on the actual day)celebratory birthday lunch. Was a bit disappointed that the lunch time menu seemed to be light bites and snacks only, this being at odds with the website. However enquired of dinner menu and was told that this would be available. Result! The two young ladies behind the bar were brilliant, a real asset to our experience. The speed of service and their attentiveness deserves special mention. My starter was a superb combination meats, salad and bread roll, enough to rein in the hunger pangs light enough to leave room for the main even. A very decent steak, mushrooms, tomatoes and chunky chips, a proper plate full which I thoroughly enjoyed. My wife's dessert, a chocolate and raspberry mouse was not an afterthought on a plate but a beautifully presente sensible portion of tastiness. Well done The Stockton Cross and your staff. Thank you."

"We frequently visit this restaurant as a family, living in hereford ourselves there are many Indian restaurants to choose from, but growing up eating Indian food, and knowing what quality is after all this time, unfortunately all the restaurants in hereford fail to deliver time after time. However, the 20 minute drive into Leominster to visit the Jalalabad is worth the drive Every, Single, Time. We visited tonight, and the restaurant was absolutely HEAVING. I must admit, working as a chef for the past 9 years, perhaps, they had put a bit too much on themselves in terms of numbers. But they handled it magnificently. And with approximately 50-60 covers in a very short space of time the quality of the food did not alter whatsoever. A very enjoyable night. And it’s so rare to find a place to eat, to have a night off cooking and have a similar quality to that at home. Interestingly there is a review left for the jalalabad a little over a month ago, it reads Food is okay (LIE) we have been going here for a while. But suddenly price has gone through the roof (NO IT HASN’T) they don't like card payments anymore (YES THEY DO) and the bill receipt is hand written on paper with not understanding of what is written on it (YES, ITS HAND WRITTEN AND PERFECTLY LEGIBLE) Very strange Unfortunately we will not be coming back (GOOD)!!!. Keep up the fantastic work, and we certainly will be back."

"Don't order delivery from this place! Placed an order around 6.30.Told we would revives food 7.30, seemed fine for a Saturday. Called when it was 10 mins late and they said they were busy and wouldn't be long. Called half an our later to ask how long our meal would be and still another half an hour, and when we said that was too late we'd have to cancel they didn't even apoligise. So if you eat there you're probably OK but if you're a regular customer who wants a delivery you'll be very low on their list of priorities. I guess Leominster is a small place, with not many choices so they can treat customers as badly a they like and still be busy"

"The two of us stopped by for a bit of breakfast, had intended to order some pancakes but got into a conversation at the counter and found out that they're all brought from the supermarket, no cooking involved. And I'm not paying the best part of £10 for shop brought pancakes with a bit of fruit thrown on, what am I paying you for there? So we decided to go traditional. Usual English breakfast but with far too much grease, oil dripping off of everything. Mine was especially swimming as the butter portion for my toast had already melted all over the plate, but it was edible and I've had worse. Just a shame as apparently this used to be the place to go for breakfast in this town."

"Just the best restaurant we've eaten in for a variety of reasons. The staff are so friendly and the atmosphere so welcoming. The menu has a vast range of amazing sounding dishes. The staff were happy to give us their recommendations to help us choose. The sauces are very light, fresh and full of flavour, not heavy with ghee which causes acid reflux for both my husband and I. It's beautifully presented and clean. The food comes out piping hot and freshly cooked. Reasonable prices too. We will definitely be back next time we are passing through! It is soft drinks only on the menu, but they are happy for you to bring your own alcohol with you should you want to. Vegetarian options: The staff are amazing and I'm pretty sure that they would make any of their dishes vegetarian if you asked. Parking: There is a large car park across the road which is free after 6pm.
