"the white onion has this perfect mix of high-quality eating, while in a relaxed and informal environment. my friend and I recently went to dinner and were so glad we did. it is with great and refinement in understood and felt just great we talked with the excellent waiter about our first culinary experience there, and he was more than happy to help us through the options on the menu. at the beginning we chose the many baked brixham scallops with celeriac and truffle purée, lardo, hereford apfel gelee and the roasted Norfolk-Quil with sesam feigenrelish, crispy tapioca. everyone was cooked to perfection and we both loved every mouthful on to the main course, and the Scottish venison saddle...read more"

The meal was fantastic as always. I just found out that the restaurant is closed on Sundays. What a tragedy!

fabulous meal and service but the noise of the bar energetic cocktails, coffee machines and cutlery sorting really interrupted the table conversation that was a scandal. will ask for a table from the bar when we come back. View menu

Unforgettable experience, service was brilliant. My wife has accidenty splashed some sause on her dress and in less than minute waiter brought her wipes with some liquid to clean it up. It worked well and she was smiling again .

whistle when you hack them, cry. this is apparently up to the chemical irritation known as a syn-propanethial S-oxide. it stimulates the water glands of the eyes. the internet is full of good advices about avoiding these: – cut them wobbly under running water. yes, right, they will not cry from the wobbles, but they will be cut from the to the finger after the knife pings from the slippery wobble! – they use a very sharp knife so that they cut instead of shredding, thus releasing less bitey chemicals. ditto, as above. – they stand on a train to blow away the steams. ergo, twirl cracks avoided in favor of wind burning water! for heaven's sake...read more

"only at chez bruce ate, because our original choice to the jubilee dinner (thames river cruise) was cancelled at short notice after we had already booked our hotel: in wandsworth. instead of canceling the whole trip to london, I decided to try cb and see if they could fit us as they were only about 30 minutes away from our hotel. it was a Tuesday night when we were able to get in. I have bruce poole cookbook so was very excited to taste the restaurant and eating was really good. very similar to la trumpet in chiswick and I think they share. my starter of enoki mushroom salad with romaine, rump and comte was enormous. my cousin also thought her makrelenrillettes were first class. we have rejoined our head; I choose the hain that was outstanding again. my cousin complained that her pork was too much meat and not enough of something else. she was again on board with the dessert of white chocolate jerk and rusty ice cream. I had the cheeseboard that was good, but I had better. good wine list, with a little decent half bottle. However, the bottle was ordered by pomerol i was not available, but the sommelier hit an alternative, cheaper bottle that was very good. brot was very nice. service was okay, not great. there were some stretch before us to pour wein, to take plates that were both my cousin and I annoyed. but this little grip aside, I thought £200 without wein was pretty good."
