"We went to The Drake 3 times over a one month period with visiting family and friends, because it is very close to our flat while living in Glasgow. The atmosphere is great and the service was excellent. However, the food was only so-so given that this is billed as a gastro-pub. The first experience was great, and the food was really good. We then went to the Sunday roast dinner, and were disappointed to see that there was no cauliflower cheese (as advertised), and the sticky toffee pudding was all gone by the time we arrived at 5:45. The Yorkshire pudding did not taste quite fresh, or made of fresh ingredients. The substituted ice cream sundae lacked some of the advertised ingredients. The third meal we had there last week and the vegetable curry contained fairly few intact vegetables, except for several strips of uncooked red pepper. The crispy onions, advertised as an accompaniment, were not present and we had to ask for them. I'd love to see this place thrive but the kitchen staff needs to do a better job. I can't strictly pan the place as it has great vibes and a named local brew, but in restaurant-heavy Glasgow, more is needed."

We came here for the Sunday roast which didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious. The staff were all lovely but seemed under pressure and maybe a bit short staffed. We didn’t mind waiting, however, and everything we were served was delicious. View menu

The menu at this restaurant is fantastic, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. They strike the perfect balance between professionalism and casualness, offering great recommendations for wine and food. The atmosphere of the restaurant is special and stylish, yet not pretentious or overly formal. I absolutely loved it.

My partner and I visited this restaurant the other night and we were impressed by the excellent service we received from Lola. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. We even brought our small dog and she was great with him too. The food was delicious, especially the broccoli starter. We can't wait to come back and try more dishes from the menu!

I've been twice now for a sunday roast, and on both occasions, it was pretty bad. 1st time My meal and my mum's was absolutely freezing, hand to send it back. When it came back, the food was burnt, steam was coming off, but still quite cold? Not great. 2nd time My roast came out, cold again, and I had both beef and chicken on my plate, when I had only ordered chicken. Sent back, waited ages, and of course it was cold again. On neither of these occasions was I offered a refund/money off. Avoid. View menu

I went for Sunday roast and ended up feeling disappointed. Three of us ordered roast beef and the beef was cooked nicely. However, the Yorkshire puddings were burnt and there were only two very small roast potatoes. The meals were served on small plates, which seemed to make it look like a larger portion. The service was not great and the staff were not very attentive. When we received the bill, there was a service charge added for four people, which was strange for pub food. Overall, we spent £140 and left feeling hungry. I won't be returning anytime soon.

We went for the Sunday Roast. Service was very slow, no one checked in or asked us how our food was during or after our meal If they had we would have said given feedback at the time. The roast advertised that is was served with caulifower cheese which I was looking forward to. We weren’t told they had run out and no alternative was offered. We were asked if we wanted any horseradish sauce with our roast, which we did. We then had to wait 15 mins while someone ran to the shop to get some, our meal was cold by this point. There were no apologies or efforts to make up for any of the above- have been to the drake quite a few times but this would put me of returning. There are a lot better Sunda...
