"This is my fav Italian joint in Zurich. La Famiglia Tremonte is a small, family run cafe-restaurant that serves excellent and authentic Italian food at prices that are low compared to the norm in Zurich.Famiglia Tremonte is rather inconspicuously located at the corner of Zurlindenstrasse and Birmensdorferstrasse, a couple of doors away from The Desperado Mexican Restaurant. You might need to look for it a little: I lived practically next door and did not notice it for almost a year, and even then a friend had to point it out to me.The restaurant is mostly a takeout with very little seating, i.e. 7 people inside, and when the weather is goo, about 5 people outside. The ambience is basic but, like most things in Switzerland, the interiors are very clean. Staff and service are very goo. The food here is awesome! Authentic Italian fare that is probably heavily influenced by Sicilian tradition since that is where the family is from. I used to visit almost every day because the food tastes great and the prices are so low for Zurich. I have tried almost everything: several pasta dishes, polpettine, stuffed bell peppers, meatloaf, piadina, and of course, the fabulously tasty and hot chilli infused EVOO. I enjoyed every dish I ordered. Great stuff! I strongly recommend the super-hot chilli infused EVOO as a seasoning for almost all dishes, but especially the pasta dishes that come in a cream sauce. Please be careful with chilli EVOO: 0.5 tbsp. for noobs, and a max. of 2 tbsp. for those who like it hot. The chilli EVOO, when used appropriately, adds great flavour to your dish. The piadina is the best I have eaten - period. I have been all over the world, spent a lot of time in Italy and New York (: great place for Italian food lovers :), and I still think this is the best piadina ever. They also serve some nice Italian desserts -- I've tried a few but have forgotten the names. They also have a small selection of Italian ingredients for sale. I bought the pesto and was happy with it. You also get a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic Italian drinks to go with the food.Prices are relatively low by Zurich standards: I rarely ever ate for more than CHF 15, and if I skipped the drinks it was usually around CHF 10. Of course, this varies a bit according to what you order.Highly recommended. Glad I found this place. Great for office workers in the vicinity."

"Nice Japanese food restaurant with very polite and friendly service in a quite relaxed setup. Prices are really competitive for the amount and quality of food you get served. I had the donburi combo which included a big bowl of katsudon, miso soup, 4 maki rolls and a cabbage salad. Portions were generous and taste overall good although I found too much wasabi in the salad (not even sure if it was supposed to be there? : I couldn't finish the salad because of it. The restaurant is 2 minutes away from the Kunsthaus on a rather quiet street. You can either sit inside or outside and is not pretentious at all. We tried to order some starters before the combo but the girl serving us recommended to first have the combo and then later decide if we wanted something more given the size of the combo itself: she was right, we couldn't order any more food! Plus points for the honesty."

"As an Italian I have to say congratulations!! Wonderful spriz and aperitif with high quality products! The only flaw I would say about the food in general is that in my opinion some things could be done better! (definitely more ragù in the arancini, more crumbly cannoli pasta and parmigiana aubergines better if fried! but despite this I will return 1000 more times!"

"Das Restaurant sieht überhaupt nicht gut aus. Es gab dort eindeutig ein rustikales schweizerisch deutsches Restaurant und sie haben sehr wenig getan, um den ursprünglichen Look zu verändern, ein paar asiatische Dekorationen, die an der Wand hingen, aber nichts, um ein authentisches Ambiente im Restaurant zu schaffen. Das Essen war nur fair in der Qualität und das ist großzügig. Der Chef verwendet viel zu viel Essig in den Soßen. Das einzige, was ich an diesem Restaurant gut fand, war der nette und freundliche Service"

"Obwohl es im Restaurant an Ambiente mangelt und es zu laut ist, um sich mit Freunden zu treffen, ist es bei weitem unser Lieblingsasiatisches Restaurant in Zürich. Die ganze Familie liebt es: Das Essen schmeckt authentisch, voller asiatischer Aromen, schöne Portionen. Sie machen jeden Tag die Knochenbrühe von Grund auf neu und ihr „Pho Bo mit Wagyu-Rind“ ist ein wahr gewordener Traum. Absolut lecker sind auch die Frühlings- und Sommerbrötchen sowie die Glasnudelgerichte mit Rindfleisch. Alles schmeckt asiatisch, so wie wir es aus Asien gewohnt sind.Es ist am besten, um die Mittag- Abendessenzeit einen Tisch zu reservieren, da das Restaurant eher klein und sehr voll ist."
