"Villa Candy is the sort of cosy owner proprietor restaurant you always want to find on a visit to a new town. We were in Dieppe for the weekend and the 29th Dieppe Retro (pour vehicules anciens) and in need of a simple but wholesome dinner. Trusting in reviews by fellow TripAdvisor contributors, we easily found the restaurant in Place St Remy, one street back from the seafront and a few minutes walk from Rue Grande. A warm welcome awaited and we were quickly seated among a bustling yet relaxing atmosphere. My husband chose the special pizza (Maroilles cheese and lardons); I decided 1 September was not too early to jump into an autumnal Cassoulet, also from the house specials. Both were delicious. We’d already spotted pudding being taken to a young boy at an adjacent table (chocolate mousse) and put our names down for it too, practically licking the bowls clean. Afterwards we relaxed with coffee/tisane and soaked up the chatty atmosphere, dismally failing to complete the Sudoko on our paper placemats but gaining the amused encouragement of our lovely (lady) maitre d’. Excellent cooking, friendly service, superb value. With biere pression and a bottle of cider, the meal was €53. We went on a Friday and understand the opening hours are Tuesday Saturday. Pizza can be ordered to takeaway. There are plenty of tables outside and it seems live music nights are held too. Cards accepted, dogs welcome, pens provided for word puzzles. Very highly recommended."

a good little pizzeria unjustly unknown, which reserves a very good welcome to its customers, by its dishes as by its human warmth. regular customers attest to these qualities.

Super accueil et peu d'attente pour être servi.Carte peu fourni et proposant principalement des plats italiens et des pizzas.Les pizzas sont bonnes, les pâtes restent des pâtes...Un peu cher pour la quantité dans l'assiette.

The starter salads are great, we had a “nicoise” and a “fermière”. Afterwards we had a pizza Calzone and a Lasagne. The latter was really good, with a unique taste. Worth trying out, when you’re in the neighborhoud. It’s only 200 meters away from the Mercure hotel.

We had a few hours before boarding our ferry back to England and found Villa Candy in a quietist square just between the main shopping streets and the promenade. Very welcoming and friendly owners and very quick and tasty food. We did arrive just after midday however. It was a beautifully sunny day so we sat in the square itself under parasols. Very pleasant indeed. Childrens' food was available and there was a large selection of pizzas plus other French dishes including mussels.

Set in a lovely square by the St Rémy Church, this restaurant was rammed when we first arrived. The very friendly patronne explained that there were people who had ordered ahead of us and brought us a carafe of her very decent rosé to drink while we were waiting: absolutely the right way to deal with a busy late summer day when everyone wanted to eat outside. My steak tartare with frites was delicious and the portion generous. The lemon meringue pie (la tarte au citron meringuée) was home made and gorgeous too. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Dieppe!
