"Visit here quite often either with family or friends for meals and snacks. I find the food and service in the restaurant is good, I was disappointed to find that the few indoor tables located just outside the restaurant that were previously dog friendly have now been removed, I know we can sit outside with our little doggie but as the weather is getting cooler now, this is no longer going to be an option so a dog walk and coffee stop here may no longer be on the cards, such a shame.I have to say that the biggest downside at this garden centre and one which could genuinely put me off from visiting is the very sour faced lady who regularly mans the till and never ever seems able to smile or even exchange any pleasantries whatsoever! I feel that she really should not be doing such a job if she really dislikes it so much I was very close to telling her so today!"

I love visiting this restaurant for a quick snack (cakes or sausage rolls) or lunch with my children or friends. The staff is always friendly, the lunch portions are perfect, and the cakes are so delicious that you won't want to miss out.

This is a delightful spot to visit, offering a wide range of gardening supplies and more. The staff is friendly and incredibly helpful. It's especially wonderful for kids during the Christmas season. Having decided to support local businesses during this time, we decided to visit the café within the garden centre. The outside setting looked particularly inviting, unfortunately the counter service was far from welcoming-rude and abrupt from the employee who took my order. Dismissive of anything...

Ordered our coffee, hot chocolate and brie, bacon and cranberry panini at till. Lovely polite friendly service. Sat at a table in conservatory. Clean surroundings and not over crowded. Nice China and a fabulous filling hot panini with coleslaw and salad. Tasty and the drinks were generous too! Great place to stop.

"Where do I even begin? The service from the woman behind the bar was shocking. When I inquired about dairy-free options for my son, I was told that nothing could be modified and that they don't cater to allergies at all! I pointed out the menu's claim that they could accommodate such needs, but my concerns were met with an eye roll. I then tried to order him some chips, but was told they were fried in the same oil as dairy and meat products, and since we are vegetarian, that wouldn't work. I asked about the vegan dishes, only to learn that they are also prepared alongside meat products, so there's no guarantee they would actually be vegan. At this point, my daughters had already become excited about eating out and the play area, so I reluctantly decided to go along with it and ordered three sandwiches on granary bread and a child's fish and chips. My son had a packet of crisps. When the sandwiches arrived, they were absolutely terrible. The cheese and onion sandwich consisted of two slices of cheap store-bought bread, some pre-grated cheese, and a few onion slices—without even a hint of butter! It certainly wasn’t inexpensive; we paid £45 for four soft drinks, three sandwiches, and a child's meal. As for the play area, it was concerning—there were sharp screws poking through the wood chips, loose sharp fixtures on top of the slide, and a large exposed electric cable under the swings! We decided to leave swiftly; it was such a disappointing way to end our holiday, when it should have been a lovely final meal before heading home. I was appalled by their attitude towards me—I felt like an inconvenience. The food was awful, and I genuinely recommend avoiding this place if you are vegan or have allergies; even if a dish is labeled vegan, they certainly don’t take the necessary precautions to keep it separate from meat products. It’s truly unfortunate, as the location by the river is beautiful, and we were all so excited to be there, but we left feeling very disappointed. We definitely won't be returning."
