"Had been previously to zaap at the York restaurant when I was vegetarian so was excited to try their vegan stuff. Nothing on the menu is labelled as vegan, which was so confusing. Was given a vegetarian menu and told firstly that anything could be made vegan. So when we actually ordered starters, we were told only the steamed dumplings were vegan and nothing else could be made vegan. We got the dumplings. They weren’t special, lacked flavour and were so wet and soggy. For mains we got a green Thai curry with tofu and a massaman with tofu. They arrived quickly and were big portions, however the flavours didn’t excite me. Was very watery and didn’t have much spice. Felt like I’d had many better Thai curries. The massaman was the better of the two, however, the potato in it wasn’t cooked. Expensive for what it was. Updated from previous review on 2023-04-16"

Have 0 idea why people hype this up. The food is utter cr*p and they have no knowledge or care about vegan requirements. Don't bother.

I tried the one in Leeds and its quite bland and watery. The potatoes in my curry were RAW. Very disappointed as I thought the food would be consistent.

Mind-blowing authentic vegan chicken. We had Gang Massaman and Pad Gratium Prik Thai and it was amazingly good. The big roof made it possible to sit outside in the rain.

I went to Zaap Thai in York and loved it so it was great to come here and try more things on the menu. Extensive seating outdoors and indoors which is lovely for the summer time. Food was delicious and service was friendly and quick. You get a good portion for the price you pay too, could not recommend more!

I really enjoyed the food at this restaurant. They offer plant-based options like chicken, prawns, or tofu. However, the menu does not have specific labels for vegan dishes, which may be challenging for customers who are not familiar with vegan food. This could make it a tricky place to eat for those who are more cautious or particular about their food choices.

As much as I prefer to support local vegan businesses Zaap is one of my favourite places to go that isn’t strictly vegan. I love the decor inside find the atmosphere to be really nice, lovely to go for with friends or on dates. I love that they do cocktails and I find the effort going into the decorations (like the actual coconut cup to drink piña coladas from really cute I find prices reallly reasonable too and was glad to find another when I went to York :

I decided to try the massaman curry with plant-based prawns and edamame beans. The curry was rich and flavorful, and I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the plant-based prawns. While I wish the venue was fully vegan, I still thoroughly enjoyed my meal and would give it 5 stars if it were. I love the street food decor and the overall ambiance of the restaurant, and the food never fails to impress me. I will definitely continue to dine here whenever I am in Leeds.

This Thai restaurant in the city center offers a separate menu for vegan and vegetarian options. I tried the drunken noodles, which were good but not exceptional. My friend ordered the massaman curry and really enjoyed it. We also had cocktails, including one with blue color that I can't recall the ingredients of. My cocktail was similar to a martini with passion fruit, vanilla vodka, and a shot of Prosecco. It's a great option if you're dining with non-vegetarians. The decor is cool, resembling a Thai street food market, and having visited one myself, I can confirm that it's realistic.

"My son expressed his desire for a restaurant that wasn't too fancy or too casual. It's always a challenge to gather grown-up sons for celebrations when they are spread out, especially when you're unfamiliar with the restaurants in Leeds. After scrolling for hours and exchanging options, we finally settled on Gallery 41, which happened to have a 20% off deal on all food for certain days in November - perfect for N's birthday. After a long journey and a chilly afternoon at Kirkstall Abbey, we were ready to eat, and boy, did we eat well. The olives were a hit with my sons and husband, while the garlic bread was described as some of the best they'd ever had. The Skin Fries were a crowd favorite, so much so that we almost fought over the last ones. The main dishes were equally impressive, with the meat eaters raving about the Spiced Pepperoni and the Vegetarian option wowing my husband. I couldn't resist the Florentina pizza, a personal favorite of mine. Dessert was a hit as well, with everyone indulging in their sweet tooth. The atmosphere at Gallery 41 was perfect for our family gathering - quiet, cozy, and conducive to good conversation. The staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. I look forward to returning with the rest of my family and indulging in more of Gallery 41's delicious offerings. In the end, it's the simple things like family, good food, and quality time together that truly matter. Thank you, Gallery 41, for a wonderful dining experience."
