"Just been to the pub to eat and, despite there being several (5+ tables free with no reserved signs on, and according to the website saying food is served until 9pm, I was told they were not taking any more bookings. I asked if all the tables were booked and the response was “we are not taking any more bookings”. 300 miles from home and we’re now walking into the centre of Horsham, which we don’t know, to find an alternative place to eat!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday to me."

"We keep coming back to The Station because of the friendly staff and the high quality of the food. Shirley is always great and makes time for a quick chat, and she helped us with a small issue with our order today. The steaks are usually the highlight here. Overall, we are loyal customers of the Beefeater chain. However, we were disappointed to see that both the main menu and the lunch menu have been altered in a negative way once again. The menus used to offer a lot of variety, but now there are limitations such as no choice of sauce with the starters and no plain chicken wings. The steaks no longer come with a glaze. We miss the option of a single burger from the main menu, as not everyone wants to order two burgers. Hopefully, they will consider adding a one beef burger choice in the future. Despite these changes, the prices are still reasonable even without loyalty vouchers. We frequent a number of Beefeater restaurants, but if the menu continues to decline and prices increase, our perspective may change in the future."

"this is a loouong overdue review of what is, in our view, the most beautiful intimate place for a high time. we got married here on 4th juni 2015 (together it was overdue.) sarah and their team have treated us from the first encounter with greatest respect and understood what we were looking for. they helped us to arrange the dj, who was excellent, and invited us to a menu sample. Many of my families came out of the land so that the accommodation would be a problem, but tottington manor have 12 nice rooms with suite, all fully furnished and each with an individual style. on the day itself they would not have done enough for us. the ceremony was exactly what we wanted. the guests were greeted and shown to the ceremony room. after the ceremony, the employees were ready to serve our guests kanape and drinks. after a very fast rounding round was our room ready for our meal and what for a meal was it? absolutely stunning eating. all our guests have traveled about eating and said they would find it hard to remember a high-time dinner that would be the same. the chef has used very well for friends with food allergies. the evening was very smooth. we had paul fish for our dj booked and the dancing area was never empty. we loved every minute of our high-time day and look back at him. as we were all at the venue, we were invited to deliver our own cheeses, bread and fruits, and the cook prepared them for us after the festivities. in the morning after we were treated to a beautiful breakfast and that beautifully furnished for post high-time celebrations there are not enough stars to say on this evaluation system what we thought about the venue. absolutely amazing from beginning to end. many thanks sarah and team, they are absolutely awesome!"

"My sister and I made a promptu stop and arrived just after it opened. Tudor style building and a little shabby inside. Seating on 2 floors with blow heaters to attempt to keep you warm. However our serving staff was courteous albeit shy and very attentive. The food was delicious and although we hadn't over ordered, we had the pleasure if taking the leftovers home to enjoy the following day. I would imagine the takeaways are popular but well worth visiting this historic building in warmer weather Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 2"

"Poor service with food for my birthday . What was annoying is when customers are in after us and order and served and out the door and we still waiting! We were told that they were waiting for the mash at over 45 mins of waiting after my wife prompting twice I am an ex chef and i was mythed! . We Go to Horsham a lot and try all the food restaurants, Nice setting but felt i let down , I understand chefs get busy but we could of been told that 45 mins to hour wait at least would be nice ."

"On arriving in this lovely pub today, I was greeted by a lady called Ally. We decided to have lunch there and as we ordered a drink, we were handed menus. I ordered the chicken burger whilst my wife ordered the double stack hamburger. My wife being on a diet at the moment asked for an unusual request of no bun fries and extra salad and got that at no extra cost. when the food arrived it was very tasteful also well presented and the chef Jamie put his own twist on a lovely home-made coleslaw and also a very nice chicken burger. Something so simple he made his own and I must say it was delicious. Speaking with Ally and Jamie I found their customer service characteristics and personality wonderful and Jamie was very thankful of my compliment to his food. I really hope to visit this pub more often and perhaps maybe have dinner there. If you visit the wonderful town of Billingshurst, then this pub is a must."

"There is a lot of good and bad things to say about Southwater country park and their cafe. The park its self its very beautiful and is a nice walk there is a few things that need updating but on a whole its very pleasant, the children's play area gets a bit over Crowded but that is the case in every park there is beautiful swans on the lake and I think it would be a very relaxing place to visit in the summer Went to the cafe for a coffee and a bite and ot was my first and last visit. It was very busy inside no social distancing and only one sanitizer station. They had very loud music playing that made it very difficult to hear the lady taking our order There was 4 staff in there one seemed to be in a tiz not really knowing what she should be doing.Anther one with a mass of messy blond hair lingering in the background. The girl making coffee was very calm and the coffee she made us was ok, I've had better but I've had worse. The lady on the till seemed to lake basic customer service skills and was very abrupt and shouted at us as she thought we was leaving at the entrance but I was grabbing my child who had attempted to run off.We had two lattes a egg mayo baguette sausage baguette and a kids lunch box this all came to £20.30The coffee was passable seemed to have no taste the kids lunch box was very reasonable but the ham sandwich was dry the sausage baguette was soggy and to top our bad experience off the egg mayo baguette had a long blonde hair in it.Because of how busy they was we decided not to make a scene and go somewhere else If I was to visit here again I will bring a pick nick next time"

"Having had some fantastic meals at this pub when the restaurant was run by the previous chef we had high hopes of the new electro pilot restaurant launched at the Foresters by Matt Gillan. We looked at the menu online which showed a good range of choice so we booked a table to eat on a Saturday night. I ordered the fish and chips described online as battered haddock fillets with triple cooked chunky chips pea fritter and homemade tartar sauce. My husband ordered the cheese burger again with triple cooked chips. What we actually got bearded no resemblance to this! My fish was a very small battered fillet served with French fries not home made and no pea fritter. My husbands burger had a strange looking mayonnaise type sauce in the bun and no cheese and was so sloppy the bun fell apart. Again was served with French fries. We were not at all impressed and our guests did not get their side order of veg. We had to send the burger back which meant my husband got his meal when we had almost finished ours. This restaurant had some great reviews with the previous chef and everything was home made and definitely value for money. It is a real shame as this is a lovely local pub and we often came to eat on a Friday or Saturday evening. Unfortunately we will not be eating again but will still frequent the pub to drink. This review has no reflection on the pub and its staff. Such a shame as it was such a good place to eat locally before."

"Today, I took my elderly mother to this coffee shop. It was very busy, but we didn't mind sitting and enjoying the atmosphere while we waited. After 35 minutes and seeing two other groups who arrived after us get their orders first, I wanted to make sure our order hadn't been forgotten. As I was confirming with the waitress at the checkout that our coffees were still being prepared, the woman making the coffees started yelling at me, accusing me of lying about when we placed our order and claiming I was trying to deceive them. She was clearly stressed and angry, and her behavior was extremely rude. This was unacceptable as I was only checking, not complaining. I won't be bringing my mother back here for coffee again."

"This wonderful restaurant gives you the well loved classics with a few harder to find and delicious dishes as well that are sure to escape the attention of other outlets of Indian cuisine. What really elevates the food here beyond the familiar and ordinary is the freshness of the ingredients, expert preparation and the lack of excessive ghee and sugar which can so easily characterise the competition. Every dish that we tried was superbly executed, beautifully spiced and absolutely delicious. It is no exaggeration to say that this was one of the best Indian meals I have ever had, (which includes comparisons with previous culinary trips to Chennai), and that this, for sure, is Indian cuisine at its finest. Cinnamon manage to combine the traditional with a more contemporary element in its fresh delivery of flavours which does not at all compromise the favourites that we know and love. My only regret is that I don’t live anywhere near Billingshurst. Well done Cinnamon, fabulous!"

"We had a family lunch for 13 on Good Friday. We had a perfect day. The lunch was for my Dad's 90th birthday and the attention to detail was fantastic (eg he likes Chianti but they didn't currently have it on the wine list so they just obtained some specially; they also played his 1940s playlist! . We had a semi-private room which was ideal because we all felt part of the sympathetically restored ground floor, with its comfortable bar area, flagstone floors and huge open fireplace. We were also able to have drinks before and after in a decked area behind the hotel which had some lovely flowers in pots. The food was of a high quality, and the service very attentive."

"Excellent service from Sherralee once again who was our waitress on Tuesday evening 16th of April, as usual she has a great vibe about her and as always she raises the atmosphere with her hospitality skills and being her happy self. This sadly went from a 10 out of 10 visit to an absolute minus when some loud woman with a blue top and black blazer took over from Sherralee. She let us wait a long time and seem to stop Sherralee from serving us. She seemed spiteful towards Sherralee and ruined the atmosphere for us. We never bothered with deserts and could not wait to leave, as a result we hope that we will not see her at the restaurant again. If we do we will leave and return when Sherralee gives us the service. I remember Sherralee having over 700 likes on social media last year due to her service and hospitality skills. I do hope this does not affect her hospitality as this woman could destroy a nice establishment that we enjoy visiting."

"We had been invited to dinner by my in-laws, on arrival we sat down and the menu arrived on a sheet of paper saying Spanish night. Tapas menu, no other food offered, we decided to give it ago even though my mother in law had not been told it was a Spanish night when booking the table. After making our choice the food arrived after about 15 minutes, but only served 3 plates for a table of 4, as this was not traditional tapas that arrived in individual dishes you basically picked 4 from the choice of 6 dishes and it arrived on a dinner plate!! So after working out the confusion with the waiting staff that we were missing a full plate, the 3 that had food started to eat. Luke warm paella, cold chicken and Luke warm meatball, we immediately sent the 3 plates back to the kitchen. A quick bing later and the food came back, and we now had 4 plates of food, warmer and drier than before. We were now hungry so ate up, what can only be described as a very mediocre tapas offering. In the mean time 2people had walked out as had waited too long to be served. A table behind us sent their food back and didn’t want replacements. Having eaten here a few times before, it’s always been a busy friendly pub, disappointing that they need to try silly gimmick nights rather than serve good pub grub."

"This used to be one of our favourite places to eat Indian food. I'm sorry to say that our experience on this latest visit wasn't a good one. My main meal was very bland and the tarka dahl, which has always been the best, was watery and not that good. One waiter in particular was too much in our faces. Sadly, we all felt that this restaurant seemed to have lost its refinement. I doubt we'll go back."

"The Moon is under new management. There are clearly efforts to improve the paintwork. But, there are no pictures on the walls. The tables were sticky. The carpet is dirty, and chairs scruffy. The Ladies toilet had tape across it, labelled Danger, no entry. The food menu has depleted, with only burgers and pizzas. The burgers were overcooked, bread roll dry. This is the only pub in Storrington that serves food. It has completely lost it's way. This is so sad. Storrington has a large population. Gone are the days of busy evenings in the beautiful garden. The Sunday Carvery is not there. The pub now has a dart board, and quiz nights. Typical of a working man's club. Such a shame."

"I must say that we were positively surprised by this pub. Stepping in felt like stepping in a time capsule back to 1999, which we liked. The pub looks like it has been lived in for a long time. It has a hidden decking facing the church which is much better then the one that faces the road. The food was surprisingly good even you can see that there are not a lot of people opt to eat there. A proper old school pub in a tiny village. I hope it survives."

"This seems to be the house outlet and cafe for Sussex Charmer cheese. Easy to find; just briefly head northwards off the A281 at Rudgwick. Situated on the site of a former brickworks, there's plenty of parking (with many potholes therein). A surprisingly large floorplan includes an attractive elevated terrace which must be very pleasant in warm weather. It being January, like most others, we sought shelter in the rather spartan, and not much warmer, indoor seating area. The menu is basic cafe fare, but understandably predicated on the core product although there are various other options provided by local suppliers. Ordering is done via friendly girls at the till situated at one end of the open kitchen, and what a spotless kitchen it looked too. Mrs EPR endorsed the signature choice of Sussex Charmer on toast. I was equally impressed by my Sussex Bacon roll four slices of top quality back bacon in a soft and squishy roll. However, as any fule no, a bacon roll needs the ketchup of choice and there was none. So I requested some, it was duly acknowledged and then subsequently ignored. So, rather tediously, I had to go and find some for myself but it was well worth it. There is a small amount of retail activity on site, but it is rather minimal and they certainly don't push their own or any other local product as much as might be expected. This location is also handy for the adjacent Firebird brewery which is definitely worth a visit."

"It was a cold day and we visited for a cup of coffee and to see the recently opened pub. The lovely open fire was unlit and there was no atmosphere. For an old pub the decor was not suited to this lovely village pub. Another couple came in and asked for mulled wine, however the pub had none! So December, no fire lit, no mulled wine and staff that were not very engaging. We looked at the food menu and we felt over priced. I’m not surprised it’s closed. Hopefully it will re-open soon with someone with a better strategy."

"The Plough Inn is a charming traditional pub located in the heart of Henfield Village. During our visit with my Aunt, it was fairly quiet but the staff were all welcoming and attentive. The lunch menu had a variety of options, although we were a bit disappointed that the specials board, which was prominently displayed, was not available during lunchtime. However, the dishes we did choose - sea bass with new potatoes for my aunt and spaghetti marinara for myself - were absolutely delicious! My aunt even mentioned that she had never tasted better potatoes. We definitely plan on returning, perhaps for dinner next time so we can try something from the specials board!"

"I moved to the area 6 years ago and never visited this bar until the current landlady took over. The improvements that have been made are amazing! The beer is fresh and delicious, the lagers are clean and crisp, and the atmosphere is very family-friendly. There is a great garden for kids to play in and a wonderful vibe throughout. I recommended this bar to a friend for a birthday party and it was a fantastic day filled with music, laughter, and fun for everyone. This pub has become a valued part of our community and a great addition to Henfield. It is in a fantastic location right on the South Downs link. Stop by and give it a try, it comes highly recommended!"
