"This place is beautiful and is on one of the most stunning beaches in the entire country. There ice cream are amazing. But yeah I am still giving them two stars. One they are not nice. And I mean not nice. English is not my first language and every time I come they make me feel it strong and hard do you have a word for this in English? . Second their food is not great. We once had a pasty and it was still frozen inside. Uuuugh..... You will have better food and much better service at the small cafe right on the other side of the river."

"The food and service were fantastic. Our server Emilie was excellent. We ordered the salmon tartare, beet salad, French onion soup, and duck burgers, all of which were amazing."

"The restaurant features beautiful gardens and a spacious dining area. The food is both high-quality and reasonably priced. It tends to get very busy on summer weekends, but the staff is friendly and attentive. Overall, it provides a great place to relax and enjoy a meal."

"I came here with my meat eating family, despite their initial reservations that I would have chosen some hippy vegan place and all were pleasantly surprised. Formerly known as The Polish Café, there are still a number of Polish specialties particularly the stuffed cabbage leaves which went down very well. The staff were absolutely delightful, especially the woman (whose name I did not get) who was wonderful, really polite and friendly. It 's obviously been recently renovated and the artwork and furnishings really make it a beautiful place. I would definitely recommend a visit. My only issue was that, despite offering vegan starters and mains, there were no vegan deserts but they do provide soya milk for a coffee/tea."

"The place is nice. It's beauty attracted me and my friend. We went in, took a while for someone to come to greet us. I told the gentleman that we are going to sit outside to enjoy the lovely weather too. We waited a while, no one came to take our order. I had to stand up and go inside. Again waited for a while till someone came to write down our order. The restaurant wasn't busy. I'm very understandable when is busy, I have the patience to wait, but when is not, the customer feels ignored and is not good at all for the restaurant's image. The food was good, can't complain, but the soup pot was was dirty outside, didn't look good at all. I still give 5 stars, don't want to influence negatively the rating, maybe was one of those days... I don't think I'd go again."

"My partner and I came here to celebrate my birthday. I was confused and disappointed by the experience to be honest. The interior is a clash of design styles there’s a tween bedroom style mural on the wall, upmarket modern style glasses and tableware, with shabby chic water pitchers and tables. The menu can’t be viewed before you go and was short and didn’t cater to all types. For example there were two dishes (out of 4 options) with pork. The plating was nice and the food was well presented. The veggie option was basically a veggie sausage roll with a stem of broccoli. It tasted so bland. My partner had the pork and said it was good. I wouldn’t go back."

"I was slightly disappointed by what they had on the menu the day we went. My first visit previously had scored wonderful langoustines not available that day), plump, juicy mussels- absent : There were no scallops nor lobsters as trailed in their wonderful cookbook, On the bright side, their fried haddock wrap was delicious, as before, and we couldn’t believe that Cullen Skink could be as tasty as theirs. A queue of some 10 parties formed 30min before they opened at noon, on a rainy, windswept day! I don’t know many restaurants as popular as this!"

"We decided to stop by this restaurant without making a reservation first, and the hostess kindly found a table for the four of us. We were surprised to see that the restaurant had changed ownership since our last visit before lockdown. We ordered the tapas grazing menu and were blown away by the incredible food. The small plates were bursting with flavor and creativity. Each bite offered a tantalizing mix of tastes that complemented each other perfectly. We each had a starter and three tapas dishes, and also sampled each other's dishes - everything was mouthwatering. The salmon risotto was excellent, the pork belly was crispy and paired perfectly with the apple sauce and chipotle slaw, and the flank steak was cooked to perfection. For dessert, we had the orange amandine which was a delicious ending to our meal. The hostess was delightful, knowledgeable, and had a lovely accent. The entire staff was friendly, competent, and attentive. We sat outside, enjoying the warm night and watching the barges sail down the canal. We plan on organizing a family outing for my mom's birthday here next. Do not miss the chance to try this hidden gem of a restaurant."

"The Hero is a fantastic pub that caters wonderfully to vegans. Their vegan fish and chips are incredible, made with banana blossom, and they even offer it at a lower price than the regular version. Depending on the menu—whether it's lunch, dinner, or Sunday—they typically have a vegan burger, risotto, roast, and a couple of sandwiches as well. In addition to the vegan offerings, it's a cozy pub with very friendly staff, situated in a charming little village."

"Me and my partner visited here last weekend before our visit to natural history museum. We were hoping for a quick and easy late lunch. The food was very nice however service was not great. Firstly my mash potatoes arrived cold, they were replaced shortly after, but we felt the waiter was not unconcerned, and generally disinterested. We were never approached to ask if everything was fine, nor if we wanted a dessert or a bill later. We had to go and gind staff ourselves to ask if we can order a pudding and much later if we can get the bill. Our waiting time for being served didn’t make it a quick lunch( restaurant was not busy) and inattentive service made us feel undervalued. We went to find our waiter to ask if we can pay as at that point we were late for our time slot for the museum. We were never shown our bill, however later realised that a service charged must have been added (as the totals didn’t add up), which considering our experience was very disappointing."

"People people people If you like sitting down in what can only be described as gods waiting room then this is perfect for your older relatives the food tasted like it was scrapped up from where dogs frequently went to the loo prisoners have better quality of food the only recommendation I would suggest is to avoid this place like the plague The one only decent thing that can be said about this place is the staff are brilliant especially if they have to endure my experience repeatedly it’s those guys I feel sorry for"

"A let down of a meal. Visited on a saturday night and our section wasn't completely full, empty tables near us, the waiter was atentive when we arrived but then we were forgotten, we ordered our initial drinks and tapas items. But then we were ignored. After we ate no one came back asking if we wanted more drinks (we did as food was very salty), no one came to take our dessert order or offer us a dessert menu, after 20 minutes we gave up and went to the bar to pay for the meal and went elsewhere for dessert and drinks. Will not be returning."

"Fifteen minutes later, a young waiter brought my wife's coffee but forgot my tea. He asked if that was all, and I reminded him about the tea I was still waiting for. He mentioned that drinks were supposed to come with the all-day breakfast, so I explained that they didn’t have our order when we arrived and shouldn’t assume our initial drink order was for that meal. After I expressed that we had been waiting far too long for our included drinks, he went back to speak with the waitress about the tea, and I noticed they both laughed. Another ten minutes went by before my tea finally arrived. When it was time to pay, I wasn’t given an itemized receipt, so I had to ask for one. Eventually, the waitress provided it: two all-day breakfasts, with drinks included, plus an extra tea and coffee. The food itself was good, but the service left a lot to be desired. Although I saw other positive reviews and had some nice conversations with fellow patrons that day, I believe all customers deserve equal treatment and respect. Overall, this was the low point of our five-day trip to Wales, which was otherwise beautifully picturesque, with friendly interactions throughout. I don’t think I’ll be returning to Arthur's."

"I recently went on a trip to find a new pub, and what a wonderful discovery it turned out to be! The location is stunning, and the pub is beautifully maintained both inside and out. We were warmly welcomed, and there was a great selection of drinks. The food was delightful, and it was such a pleasant surprise to find excellent vegetarian options available. The staff was also fantastic. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. What a fantastic pub! Thank you for a lovely evening!"

"Having been in the industry for years and usually refraining from reviews, I find it necessary to provide honest feedback. While the exterior seemed inviting, the experience took a downturn after a warm welcome from a gentleman. The restaurant lady's rudeness and lack of hospitality, despite ample space, were disappointing. My request for a kids roast at 6 pm on a quiet Sunday, admittedly cheeky, was met with a flat-out refusal, missing an opportunity to avoid food waste. Opting for an adult Sunday roast at £18, my wife received a portion barely distinguishable from a child's, and it arrived cold. My child's freshly microwaved meatball pasta was fine, except for the mouth burn during tasting. Disheartened by the subpar roast, my wife tried the £25 sticky toffee pudding for two courses £7 for the dessert), only to receive a thin, cold slice with ice cream being the highlight. During bill settlement, our host, seemingly aware of the poor experience, didn't inquire about the food quality. In summary, this review serves as a cautionary note about the establishment's overpricing, poor service, and cold dishes. Given our experience, it wouldn't be surprising if the place faces closure. It's disheartening, considering our initial hopes for a more satisfying experience. I hope this honest review is taken constructively for potential improvements."

"We visited this beautiful little gem at the weekend after a particularly long journey. We were about 20 mins prior to them closing, despite this they happily made us lunch and served us without rushing or making us feel guilty about them clearly having to remain behind longer to accommodate us. The food was beautifully tasty and they even gave water and biscuits for our dog. We have travelled ALOT and to be given this level of service and kindness is rare. We were very grateful and extremely impressed by the food and choice of vegetarian options. A beautiful eatery with wonderful staff. Highly recommend and will definitely return again soon! "This charming small hotel is situated in a beautiful location. It features 5 or 6 shepherd's huts for guests seeking a nearly outdoor experience, as well as additional rooms inside the hotel. The staff were all incredibly friendly, and the breakfast offered a fantastic variety. I highly recommend staying here and would definitely return if I'm in the area. Highlights of the hotel: Romantic ambiance."

The atmosphere was equally impressive, creating a warm and inviting environment that enhanced our meal. "We live in the US and we’re traveling to Essex for a holiday. We were looking For a great Indian restaurant and found it. We read the reviews and decided to give Cinnamon a try. The food was exceptional as was the service. You cannot get a good Indian in the States so we were excited to have an Indian dinner in England. It really is terrific food with wonderful flavors. Absolutely loved it. Chicken Tikka Masala and a Vegetavle Korma were the two dishes plus Aloo Gobi side. We will return"

"We visited Marco Pierre restaurant as a family of 13 for my niece’s 21st birthday. What should have been magical afternoon turned into 3 hours of frustration and boredom, waiting SO LONG for starters, main course and desserts to arrive. Our starters took nearly 90 mins to arrive, main meal over 2 hours, and dessert was 2 hours 50 mins. So much so we had to extend our parking thank god for parking apps! Food was nothing fantastic. My partner and I visited the Marco Pierre restaurant in London and the food there was phenomenal, so very disappointed that my daughter’s burger was overcooked, my chicken was dry, and the bottom of my sorbet was ‘soup’ like. Whilst polite, the staff were clearly young and inexperienced, and seemed oblivious to the dining experience they were providing. They went ‘missing’ quite a lot so no one permanent on the shop floor, or seemed so busy chatting which was annoying when we had been waiting so long for food. We won’t be returning."
