"My wife and I were lucky enough to stay at Spot in the Woods recently for our anniversary weekend, mainly because it was dog friendly in the rooms and restaurant. The service was second to none, and neither my wife or I could fault it. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff, and the breakfast and dinner in the restaurant was exceptional. A big thank you to ALL the staff (Dan, Tyrone and Fiona apologies I did not catch all their names, but all were equal in the fantastic service) at the hotel for an amazing weekend away."

The restaurant boasts a lovely atmosphere with ample parking and a spacious, airy dining area. The food was enjoyable, and the wine selection was decent. The standout feature was the exceptional service, which was full of personality. Overall, I would rate the service a 5 and the location a 4.

We had a short break from 25 29th of nov 22. Spot in the woods couldn't do enough for us. Sandra fiona and ty were super friendly. They spoilt our dogs too. The room was spacious, spotless and warm. I can't put into words the quality of our stay. We will definitely be back Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 View menu

This charming small hotel is situated in a beautiful location. It features 5 or 6 shepherd's huts for guests seeking a nearly outdoor experience, as well as additional rooms inside the hotel. The staff were all incredibly friendly, and the breakfast offered a fantastic variety. I highly recommend staying here and would definitely return if I'm in the area. Highlights of the hotel: Romantic ambiance.

We stayed at this restaurant last summer, and it was a delightful experience. However, after making a new reservation for ourselves and a family member with disabilities, our bookings were abruptly canceled. They have apparently chosen to focus on attracting larger event clients instead (their explanation was vague at best). This experience has shown me that they are unreliable, greedy, and unprofessional. Honestly, they do not deserve the 5-star review I gave them previously. Good luck in pursuing the big money!

"Oh dear, how sad this beautiful rural pub has been completely ruined by a landlady who openly only cares about taking your money and wanting you to buy overly expensive food on a very limited menu no vegetarian options at all). I really wanted to see this pub as my late grandparents had met there many years ago, we have history in the area too as they owned farmland there. On arrival were greeted by a woman whose smile was so false and reminded me of an uptight primary school teacher, who desperately wanted us to buy food and not just drinks. We felt hurried into making a decision of a very slim selection of drinks. I had a coffee that was about 3 mouthfuls. The garden and pub itself is beautiful, and worth seeing. However, our experience was ruined by a landlady who obviously only bought this pub to turn it into a gastro pub and and cash cow. With obviously no interest in the local history at all, after my husband tried t make a conversation about the family we had had in the area. She just asked if he wanted a menu!! A word of advice would be, from a business perspective would be to at least fein some interest. Sadly it is not the quaint little rural pub that it should be, while I understand making a profit is paramount in business at least try and be more genuine if you would like people to return and buy overly priced food. And at least pretend you are interested in local history, because guess what that might be the reason people are going there. It was obviously a pub, in a very small village that was once the heart of the community."
