"We went to Gusto this evening to celebrate my god-daughter's birthday, as we have done many times before. Unfortunately, I have to say that the experience was awful. Despite our table being booked for 7:15, we were not seated until 7:35. The manager, Martin, took us to a table downstairs that was not our original choice, next to a drafty door with no atmosphere. It took over 30 minutes to order our drinks and another 30 minutes to receive them, as there was apparently a backup at the bar. It should not be difficult to open two bottles of wine and make a mojito. We ordered food at 8:00 and received our starters at 8:40. There was only one server, a lovely girl, who was very apologetic when we were paying. However, she was running downstairs almost on her own, so she could not provide the service that we should have received. When we asked to speak to the manager to have the service charge deducted, Martyn did not apologize and instead tried to blame us, his staff, and others at our table. He claimed to have done everything he could, but in our opinion, his response was completely inappropriate. We were not seeking a discount or free items, just a sincere apology, which we did not receive. Unfortunately, Gusto is no longer a restaurant we will be visiting."
