"This place is truly a hidden gem. It's quirky and charming, with an extensive menu that has something for everyone. The food is delicious, and the staff is wonderful. We started with the sticky chicken pudding, which may be the best I've ever had, along with the black pudding and haggis fritters, which were fantastic. For main courses, I had the gnocchi with spinach, while my mother enjoyed the chicken, leek, and mushroom cake, which was amazing. For dessert, we shared the tablet bakery sundae, featuring chocolate brownie, caramel shortcake, and flapjack – absolutely delicious! I can't wait to return and try more of the menu. I highly recommend this place, and it's also dog-friendly!"

"the authentic Caribbean atmosphere. The jerk chicken was perfectly seasoned and tender, with a nice kick of heat. The plantains were crispy and delicious. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a taste of Jamaica in the heart of the city."

"Wow! The food was fantastic! You can say that the cook takes a lot of care in his food! Nicely presented food and every mouthful burst with taste. Also the portion size was good. I had the pig bell that was amazing! It was nicely cooked and had a nice crisp cracking! The restaurant offers a very cozy environment and very welcoming. This is not your average pub lunch, it is quite expensive, but you pay for local ingredients and well designed menus. I'd like to go back! I would highly recommend this restaurant. The staff was also great!"

"Went for lunch today with my other half, ordered 2 steak burgers with sweet potato fries and normal chips, my fries were completely burnt physically couldn’t eat them and my partners chips were undercooked, overall £48 including 2 cokes and onion rings, left feeling sick and now have dodgy stomachs after the dodgy meat burger. Not one to leave bad reviews but really disappointed and not cheap either. Service: Dine in"

"When we arrived, we couldn’t figure out where to enter. There’s a Brasserie entrance and an Oran Mor entrance. We tried the later. Note that I booked a table in the John Muir room thinking that there’d be an entrance that stated that. Anyway, the bouncer who I guess was there for the bar pointed to a door and we entered. It dumped us into the middle of the restaurant/bar area where everyone just sat looking at us. We wandered around a bit until I went to the bar. The bartender took us to the John Muir room where someone came over and seated us. Our waitress didn’t know what the soup of the day was and had to go ask. We chose the side salads which were good with a garlicky olive oil dressing, couscous, romaine and avocado. I got the small order of Red Thai Mussels which was good. It was supposed to come with crusty bread but didn’t. I asked if I could get some and the waitress laughed. She asked if I’d like a side and I said it was supposed to come with it. The bread was brought but it was just toasted white bread not a sturdy bread for sopping up soup. The mussels were very good and I got a lot of them. My partner got the fish and chips which was fried so hard you couldn’t eat the crust. She dug the fish out leaving the shell of fried dough still in shape on her plate. What a disappointment this place was."

"We popped in here for some dinner and wasn't expecting it to be as lovely inside. It was a Sunday afternoon, there was a wee jazz band playing and the place was lovely. Not busy at all. We had starter of soup of the day, which was just lovely. I could have eaten the whole pot. I then had chilli beef with rice, again it was lovely, not very spicy though. My husband had steak pie which he also said he really enjoyed. We finished off with Strawberries and meringue.. It was amazing... The staff were absolutely lovely, we didn't wait long for food and I don't have any complaints. Would definitely be back again.. The soup and dessert alone would bring me back. Lovely place!"

"We always enjoy dining at Skyline. The food is as promised on the menu and so delicious.. It is very good value for money and the place is spotless. This is a very important factor for me . It was a family meal and we had varied dishes but I can recommend the celeriac and beef cannelloni for starters and the beef shin for the main course .The family all enjoyed their different options. The staff are very friendly and helpful"

"The restaurant received a 2.5 rating for food, 4.5 for service, and 5 for ambiance. It is by far the most Instagrammable restaurant I have ever visited. Despite our initial desire to have breakfast in the glade room, it was fully booked, so we dined in the parlour instead. The staff were all highly professional and courteous. We ordered the eggs benedict and pain au chocolat. The pain au chocolat was not as flaky as expected, but the chocolate chips inside were delicious. The eggs benedict was on the smaller side and had a unique taste that was somewhat disappointing. The highlight of the meal was the delicious bread that came with the eggs benedict, which was crispy and flavorful. The real standout was the restaurant's decoration. We had the opportunity to see the glade and gallery, and despite having to wait until 11:20 to see the famous egg-shaped lion, it was well worth it. Overall, I recommend visiting for the unique ambiance."

"I was unhappy ,when I heard that we were going there for a High T. As I swore, I wouldn't be back in there, but as it was a family members choice,I didn't want to be rude. The sausage rolls didn't taste nice, presentation of the cakes not good, the sandwiches was good. The lay out of the tables was better, than my last visit, again it was pre booked event with plenty of notice..The service was slow,in my opion. No fresh cups was offered for t or coffee. It was just topped up ,when I think they remembered. Also one of party was a coffee drinker ,asked for more coffee and they didn't have any made. There was a 20 minute wait.Again the hotel knew in advance about the event, again the staff was unprepared for a large party .I was going give the plough the benefit of the doubt. No ,even if I am asked to go for anything to eat there again,by a friend/family member.. I will decline politely."

"We visited Broughty Ferry eight years ago and had a lunch at the Bruach, it persuaded us to move to the area because of the many good restaurants and shops. Bruach has been taken over by the owners of the Barrelman in Dundee and we decided to lunch here after having several good experiences there. Good menu but the fish is usually good in this area so we both had haddock, fish tasted very fresh with good batter, chips and bit greasy, tartar sauce very good and plentiful too, mushy peas a bit dried out. Fish supplied by Perth company not Arbroath but fish was very good. Quality suppliers seem to be used, meat suppliers are Scott’s which we use all the time because of the quality. Good choices on menu, you will get something to your liking. Good wine list at reasonable prices Staff good and very helpful Popular with families at lunch time so quite busy downstairs, we got the last table downstairs but if it had been occupied we would have been dining probably alone upstairs which rather spoils the dining experience."

"After a slight wait to be acknowledged by the staff, we were eventually seated by a very nice lady. Unfortunately, our experience went downhill from there. We ordered our meals and were asked to pay immediately by our unfriendly server. When we questioned this, we were told it was how our waitress preferred to do things. We paid and then waited and waited. Only two out of the three meals arrived, and when we inquired about the missing meal, we were told that this was not bad. We had to ask for cutlery from a neighboring table as none was provided. The order was incorrect and the meals had lost some temperature by the time the missing one arrived. We ordered hot drinks and were surprised that we did not have to pay upfront, but this was due to a different waitress. The lukewarm food prevented us from forming an opinion on the taste. Although we did not complain, we noted to avoid this place in the future. If meeting with friends, we sometimes have to go with the flow. I may give this place another chance, but I will not be recommending it anytime soon."

"I just got back from one. wry beautiful afternoon tee in salty dog cafe. amazing friendly staff couldn't do enough. had my grandchildren with me (9 and 12) and instead of tee, wanted bananas and chocolate milk shakes. I have them with a smile and without extra charge. a large amount for food..really beautiful sausage rolls, sandwiches and skorn, cake etc. children loved it and so did the adult. I took food home. go back to the birthday contract and have another afternoon tee later this month."

"Bit of a disappointing experience last night. We waited over an hour for food and then when it was brought out some of it didn't arrive, server advised onion rings would be brought out shortly but didn't arrive no one about to ask and was starving by this point so we just ate. Brought it up when they brought the bill and asked if things were okay. Excuse was oh sorry we're a bit flustered tonight. No reduction on bill for missing item which we paid for and should have received. With my parents who paid the bill so didn't want to ruin their night complaining further but was very disappointing. If people pay for a part of the meal they should receive it or it should be discounted if they can't provide what is advertised."

"this is a nice neighborhood pub that a welcome reize during our day to foot along the water of leith. the kinleith mill is immediately visible, as a step away from the flow path is, and it was great to see people who enjoy a more common in the sun. we decided to sit down as we wanted to eat and drink. we were a group of four friends and were quickly visited by the friendly bartender. we all ordered a sandwich with chips and a selection of pints to wash it. pints were cold and refreshing, really nice when a little expensive. the sandwiches also tasted good. high quality ingredients, good value and a beautiful atmosphere in which they enjoy. the place was busy on this Saturday afternoon, with many regular sitting in the bar with their drinks, but also many people for lunch. it is easy to see why, with the friendly atmosphere and the beautiful eating in the offer. I'm not sure how many times I'll be out here, but I'll definitely be back in when I'm recommended."

"Fortunately, we made a reservation as the restaurant seemed to be very popular. We were seated downstairs at a table, where the tables were placed closely together due to the small size of the restaurant. I had to ask to be moved because the man next to us was constantly sniffing, which was distracting while we were trying to eat. After being moved, we ordered our food and drinks, which were all satisfactory. The steak and creamed spinach were delicious. We found the experience of dining here quite interesting, as the Prosecco was served in small glasses reminiscent of Babysham, the chairs were reminiscent of old school chairs, and popcorn was served in a tin cup. There was even a dustpan and brush under the counter next to our table. Despite the quirks, the staff were all friendly and accommodating. The food was of good quality and value for the money."

"During our travels, we didn't really hit any restaurants that wowed us, until this place. You get about as many options as you'd expect from a bistro, but wow, are they amazing. Highly recommend it if you make it up to that area.
