"This restaurant boasts beautiful views of Whitley bay sea front. I had high expectations from reading reviews and looking through photos. For starter I had the soup which was described as having mussels scallops and prawns. Now this must be a typo because what was served can only be described as tinned soup with one tiny prawn, one tiny mussel and I couldn’t find any scallops until the last few spoon fulls but I kid you not it was the tiniest scallop know to man kind! So disappointing. The starter is normally my favourite part of a meal but not today. It was almost as if the chef was playing a joke on me. The lack of seafood was laughable and frankly embarrassing. I’d probably take the dish off the menu or at least describe it correctly to avoid others from being disappointed. I understand that seafood is expensive I would sooner pay a supplement on the set menu than serve one sad mussel, scallop and prawn. On a separate note the one mussel I had was overly fishy and tasted a little sour. It was rancid, I hope I’m not ill tomorrow. Not a great start 1910! My partner ordered a twice baked cheddar soufflé which was divine! We both opted for the confit shoulder of lamb roast dinner. 10 out of 10! The meat was delicious and tender, the potatoes were creamy and seasoned well. The gravy was the show stopper. It was rich with depth of flavour that filled my mouth with joy and the cauliflower cheese was one of the best I’ve tasted. Service was standard. Will I go back? Definitely to order the soufflé and the lamb, This restaurant describes its self as a steak and seafood restaurant and from my experience the seafood side leaves a lot to be desired."

Food, service and ambience were excellent. We have eaten here before in the summer with fabulous views out to St Mary’s lighthouse. However, the lack of a view on a winter’s evening in no way distracted from our experience. Wonderful!

Visited as a family (10 of us across 4 generations) for Sunday lunch. We all thought our food was lovely being well presented and delicious. It’s good value for the quality on offer with gorgeous views of the coastline as a bonus. Staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s not the first time we’ve visited and definitely won’t be the last.

We have visited many times before and never disappointed and this was the same. The service is great from the drinks in champagne bar before and after to the service in the restaurant. Mr Blake and his staff are great. Food also good. Get loads of prawns with the starter and mains and desserts great too. The views over the seafront are fantastic. View menu

Absolutely lovely! We live in the area and have been meaning to try the restaurant for a long time. We visited for a birthday meal and were not disappointed. The staff are very attentive, the setting is lovely and the food was absolutely delicious. We had the chateaubriand and it was cooked to perfection. A first class dining experience that I’d highly recommend.

My Wife and I went for afternoon tea as a birthday treat from our daughter and the whole experience was brilliant. The gentleman who looked after us was very polite and explained the menu to us(as first time visitors). The sandwiches, savories and cakes were all very nice and with a great view over Whitley Bay coastline. Well recommended and we look forward to returning and sampling their evening menu

We were there for the festive menu. We first had a champagne in the bar. In the restaurant we were welcomed by Ryan and shown to our table. Although it was 3 courses we opted for 2. Our main turkey dish was well presented the turkey was very tasty as were the veg and pigs in blanket. We drank a glass of merlot with the main. For dessert my wife chose the Christmas pudding and I had the ice-cream and sorbet. The service was very good View menu

First time here but certainly won’t be our last. It has the be one of the best meals we’ve had eating out. It’s amazing what’s on your doorstep as we live in Durham. My wife I opted for the fillet steak which was gorgeous. Only a slight criticism is the chips believe it or not, could do with triple cooked ones like most restaurants or even go for fries if you’re not keen but I wouldn’t mark them down on chips as it’s an individual thing isn’t it. Others may love them. Our main server was Ryan who was professional from start to finish along with the other staff. Drinks in the bar area were great before hand again staff are polite always willing to help with anything. See you again soon 1910.

We live in Whitley Bay and when one of my wife’s cousins came to visit us , we wanted to make sure we showed off our lovely hometown to its best. It was a no brainier to book a table at 1910 for dinner one Friday evening. A great night isn’t just about the meal for me. It starts when you arrive at the Dome, when you see the sea and the coastline and when you enter the building and hear the pianist playing. It gets better when you go upstairs and enter the bar and see the view. Through to the restaurant and it’s better again with a table in the window looking out towards the lighthouse. Staff were excellent. Service was very welcoming and (having visited before), I can say there’s been a big...
