"Went on a busy Saturday evening, luckily they'd had a cancellation. Restaurant was lovely busy, so quite noisy when chatting. Had pre dinner drinks at our table weren't rushed to order I went with a couple of suggestions from our server. The scallops in bacon were cooked perfectly the lobster quadroni was delicious. Followed by liver bacon and Monkfish, both dishes very tasty, though my partner said liver wasn't pink but still very good. Just had to try the bread butter pudding, as made with Brioche, my favourite alongside Panettone B and B. It was brilliant! All in all a lovely evening, not rushed, no long wait for food but nice timing between courses. Definitely recommend we will return so many amazing starters I'd love to try !"

Always great food. Very cold night but was toasty inside. Lovely staff as always. Only time I have 3 courses because it's so tasty.

We went their for a wedding reception so the restaurant was closed to the normal clientele. What a lovley place this was with a garden area an area for dancing and the restaurant for the meal. The atmosphere inside was fantastic we had a great night the food was delicious. Great choice.

Always a great meal at 47The Street. Everything freshly cooked and they are so accommodating with dietary requirements. The roasts are perfect, beef perfectly cooked, and lots of it with plenty of fresh vegetables. Skate special was divine, as was the linguine and Veal Chop. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Book in advance.

4 of us went to ‘47 the street’ for my wife’s birthday. The main issue is that service was awful, we did inform the owner who clearly did not care either way with no apology. 2 hours for a starter and main, my 7 year old by this time was a little bored. We got there at 6.15 and left at 8.15. The food was adequate at best and was filled with lots of cream that made the food sickly with no separation of taste. I would certainly not recommend this place at all unless you like rude slow service.

Huge disappointment. We booked a table of 6 for my daughters birthday. Children's portions were really tiny. The staff (one tall lady in particular) wasn't polite or friendly she was quite rude and rolled her eyes (at other customers). The food was so steaming hot that it was almost too hot to eat even 15 minutes after being served so I suspect it had been microwaved. The linguine was spaghetti. The chicken was pre cooked pieces that they'd added later, it tasted peculiar. I ordered ice cream thinking they couldn't mess that up shards of ice in it! Won't be returning. Such a shame.

Good selection of dishes on the menu for this Italian restaurant near Braintree. The specials board also had a few extra dishes to choose from. I went for mussels for starters, and whole sea bream for main. My wife had the smoked salmon and the liver and bacon for her main. All of the dishes were really tasty. If I had one criticism I thought the bream was over seasoned. For dessert I would highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding. Definitely up there with the best sticky toffee puddings I’ve eaten. My wife had pecan pie which had a lovely crunchy pastry. Overall the mega was good, not outstanding but it’s better than your average Italian.

"We came here on a last minute hunt to find a Sunday roast with family without much expectations. However when entering its a lovely set up and we were greeted by Lee and Alison who looked after us for the meal who just to begin were absolutely brilliant, they really care about the customers and make this place extra special. Now for the food you can get a 2 or 3 course meal so everybody made various selections but all had starters. Most went for the Aarancina which isn't your usual starter with a Sunday roast but for here it packs alot of flavour and is a great way to start the meal. They have a great selection of alcoholic beverages I went for a simple beer. For the main roasts we had a variety of meats I wanted the pork but sadly they had no crackling which was half the reason for ordering but if I am being honest after eating the meal it wasn't missed out the meat was tasty full of flavour but the sides were the key. The roast potatoes were of a top level usually when you eat out they are never as good as eating at home, the Yorkshire were huge and tasty, gravy brilliant with plenty to go around and lots of veg and cauliflower cheese on the side. Honestly this was excellent a really good roast probably the best I have ever ate in a resteraunt. Some of the others had the lamb shank which was huge and had great feedback but the beef was great and so was everything else. So yes check it out eat in and eat some great food in a nice setting with absolutely brilliant service you won't be disappointed."

"What can I say….We held our wedding dinner and impromptu party ! on the mezzanine floor and had the time of our lives with our nearest and dearest. It’s been a pretty special place for us as we dined at the House by Hilly Gant to check the area out before moving from London and so as we were having a small wedding of 22 people we felt this was the best place to have our wedding. Suzanne and the team could not have done anything more to make our afternoon and evening so perfect. The food was outstanding and our guests were very impressed Harry and his cocktail making skills are second to none. Huge shout out to all the kitchen staff who’s attention to detail and timings were spot on. Leading up to the day itself Suzanne took charge and offered her expert advice on how to dress the room and made so much effort with our requirements. 3 children and 1 baby as part of the guest list! . The beef in particular was spectacular and the chocolate fondant was sublime. We honestly didn’t want to leave. After dinner Suzanne was able to crank the music up and we had a little party ensuring all the guests downstairs were still well looked after our friends were actually dining downstairs and were able to join us towards the latter part of the evening! From the bottom of our hearts thank you so much to everyone for making it so special for us. I’m not surprised that you were recently awarded your second rosette, totally deserved. For anyone looking for quality food, locally sourced, and beautifully executed this is the place to come. SEE YOU SOON and thank you again x"
