"Ate here on a Tuesday evening in July with 2 colleagues. Pleasant looking restaurant, nice decoration, but service was very slow by the single waitress who took a long time to take our order despite the fact that there were only 4 other tables occupied. Menu is not extensive, maybe 6 starters, and 8 or so main course choices. No daily specials available while we were there. We all chose the maroilles croquettes to start - these were nicely presented, but overall were disappointing in that the taste was simply not there, maroilles is a strong smelling and strongly flavoured cheese - could have been edam in there and I would not have known. Bland. For mains I chose the carbonnade, a traditional Flemish dish I have eaten many times before, served with fries and a large salad, portion size of the carbonnade was on the small side. The beef itself was OK but was not melt in the mouth as a good carbonnade should be, the sauce was too sweet for me, don't know what beer was in it, but something darker and less sweet was needed. Nothing wrong with the dish per se, but other carbonnades I have eaten elsewhere have been so much better. Our French colleagues steak was good, but again nothing special, while my other colleague's maroilles burger was under cooked for his taste - his fault in asking for medium and not well done. Deserts were good. A disappointing visit, blandness seeming to be the order of the day. I would not chose to return."

Great little restaurant. We went on a Saturday lunch time. Even though it was very busy the waiter was welcoming. Lovely food and good wine recommended by the waiter.

Great restaurant with great food and excellent service. All the food was home made and tasty. Good choice of wine at reasonable price. Would definitely go back next time we are in Lille

We were a group of 10 and the service at this restaurant was very good and they did manage to fit us in last minute. The good wasn't to everyone's taste but it was an enjoyable evening .

The pain perdu brioche with salted caramel ice cream stole the show again on a repeat visit, though the excellent service, broad-ranging if 100% French wine list and competent mains also delivered nicely. Onglet de veau was excellent.

Many nice touches here, starting with a dish of garlic olives when you sit down. The salad, with toast topped with goat cheese, was fantastic, especially when paired with a glass of kir liqueur. The salmon was not so great, no doubt in part because it was farmed, not wild. It came with some greens that were pleasant but a bit salty. The mayonnaise and a butter sauce for the salmon, which came on the side, were nice but nothing to write home about.

We had a meal here after a wine buying session during the day and were very pleased we had made this choice. 3 of us had the coquilles St Jacques as a starter which was superb and then I had the cod dish - wonderful and finished off with the Brioche perdu - faultless! The rest of the group had the cafe gourmand and were equally impressed. We had been given an amuse bouche to start with which was based on a bltzed courgette and cheese smoothie - lovely. My aperitif of a Kir Aligote was spot on and the waiter proudly showed us the locally sourced Kir + tastings.

We choose this restaurant during a quick day cittrip in Lille by a very hot weather. The owner is quite nice and say that all products are fresh one (not all from the day). We try just 2 main course , one of the day : Andouille de Cambrai with a mustard not really tasty and not what I will call a chef work, just some Andouiklle slices with some vegeatables put without any art in the plate more what you expect of a canteen. My wife had a tuna, with nearly the same vegetables and a vegetables pudding, nothing appealing and not what you expect of the chef for this price.

We are here on a Saturday night, 4 friends sitting outside. The waiter was so friendly, polite, translated everything from French to English for us without frustration, chose and excellent wine for our meal. Between our group I tried a few other starters and mains, all different to my own, and all absolutely cooked to perfection with a lot of love from a clearly passionate chef. The croquettes were the best starter, followed by the eggs in a sauce with chopped pork. The mains, the beef in sauce (sorry, it had a more exotic French name than that) and tuna steaks were my favourite. All in all a 5 star meal, and I'd happily recommend this place to visiting friends.
