"We had a delightful evening at Caer Beris Manor to celebrate our wedding anniversary whilst visiting the local area. We were lucky enough to secure a table on the evening of their reopening after lockdown so were the first to experience the newly refurbished hotel and the revamped menu. The decor is wonderfully eccentric encompassing everything from William Morris prints, an ultra modern appero area overlooking the grounds and a montagnyard mural outside on the terrace. The staff were all delightful. We arrived early and were offered drinks in the conservatory. Omar went out of his way to make us feel welcome and even had a special anniversary dessert prepared for us which was a lovely gesture. The highlight was however the food. It was a concise menu full of locally sourced produce put together in some really interesting combinations. I had an eel en croute to start and a beef fillet with miso as a main course and both were excellent. The prices are high (particularly for the local area) but the quality justified the price. We couldn’t have asked for a better evening to emerge from lockdown!"

James, the chef, was superb. We had Welsh lamb, simply cooked with fresh vegetables. I resented having to pay extra for bread.

Had such a great evening here with the 14 course tasting menu. The staff were great and each course explained, we had two meat options, one pescatarian option and one veggie option and nothing disappointed. The grounds and building itself very cosy , comfortable and stylish, the food was top notch and all made for a great night, We will return.

Some of the best food I’ve had in a long time. The a la carte menu included roast duck and lamb that were cooked to perfection. The starters and sweets were beautifully presented and delicious. They have an Italian set menu on Thursdays. We had crab linguine and veal Milanese followed by lemoncello sorbet and tiramisu which were wonderfully cooked. Keep hold of this chef. He’s a real treasure. The dining room is atmospheric and comfortable. View menu

Mock timber frame manor house retaining much of its character and charm. No lifts. Breakfast was choose your own pre-packed cereals with a cooked option. Dinner was a mini-taster with delicious options which we watched cooked on TV cameras. The room was clean but dated with an en-suit crammed in. High windows restricted light and views of extensive gardens and river. The staff were friendly and willing but lacked service training. Guests our age do not wish to be called 'you guys '.

We stayed at the Caer Beris hotel on a Sunday night, when the only food on offer for an evening meal was a roast. This in itself was disappointing, but the meal itself was very poor. To make matters worse it was served in their function room, which is a souless room for dinner, with limited numbers dining. There is clearly an issue with the kitchen, and we know they are short of chefs, but previous reviews which describe the food as 'fantastic ' and 'superb ' are no longer applicable. The waiting staff were however great, but that doesn 't make up for very poor food.

Have ate here a few times and had a drink. The grounds are beautiful but the hotel started to look tired and the food ok but a bit overpriced however since being taken over by new owners a year or so ago they have really poured their heart into it. The decor is beautiful, elegant and yet cosy. This is in the restaurant and communal areas as we only eat here as stay at the cabins over the bridge. We went Wednesday evening and the food was so tasty and delicious. We also were lucky to get 20% off so very good value. This hotel has really upped its game and would definitely recommend View menu

I booked this hotel for one night at the end of a break away in North Wales, but within minutes of checking into our room we were so impressed that we booked a second night there. We had the four poster room initially which was stunning and huge and had amazing views across the river. We had to move to a slightly smaller room for the second night which was also stunning. Breakfast was wonderful and the beautiful room we ate in added to the whole experience. The staff are so welcoming and couldn't be more helpful. They made sure our room move was quick and seamless. There is such a calm unhurried yet professional feeling in the Manor. The Manor and its grounds have the wow factor and we can't...

We booked for a meal on Tuesday , oh my word wish i hadn 't bothered , they sent out toasted bread and butter it was burnt , then they sent out what can only be likened to 'Gravey ' with sun flower seed on the top , the starter , soup was very thick and cold on a plate not in a bowl , the ' pate ' wow it was mush , the main my husband ordered lamb , it came with one carrot and a piece of onion , i had the fish which came on top of peas and turnip chuncks covered in what tasted like curry sauce , for desert we ordered Cheescake , that was the never cheesecake i 'm sorry but i will not be back the whole meal was very disappointing which is why i never finished any of the food served to me .
