"A tiny Japanese restaurant in Quartier Latin. This is not a Chinese restaurant converted into a Japanese one, but a real one with a Japanese chef. The restaurant has seating at street level and a long table for 8-10 persons in the basement. So if youndo not make reservations in time, you might end up in the basement, and share the table with other people. Since the table is large, you still have enough privacy (we ended up in the basement and had a great evening). We tried two of the menus, Azabu and Osashimi, the difference being that Osashimi includes a sashimi in addition to the starter, maincourse and desert of the Azabu menu. Portions are not to big, but if you take the extras into account which were presented to us by the restaurant (miso soup and and egg dish) we had enough to eat. The salmon sashimi comes 'in parts' and you assemble it yourself at the table. The salmon starter is also worth to order. One of us had octopus as main course, which was very tasty and well prepared. I had tuna, which was also very well prepared. Desert was a cake, and a fruit salad. The quality of wine was a positive surprise, Sancerre La Cote des Monts Damnés 2014. Good quality for a reasonable price.Staff is extremely friendly and speaks also English."

You can watch the chef prepare your very good food here while being served in low-key style by the friendly, helpful staff. Nice sake selection, and multi-lingual staff.

Unique experience in a tiny setting. Subtle foam like amuse gueule with smoky fish taste. Original cuisine. Delicate presentation of prawns and sugar peas and beautiful bento box. Particularly attentive yet charming service. View menu

We had a quick dinner as the waiters informed us they were closing at 10:30. We had ordered then a grilled octopus and a some grilled fish. Once the food arrived I was surprised about the quantity, so poor... I was more surprised when I got the bill, 80 euros !!

Small, excellent Japanese Gastro restaurant. The food is a mix of modern and traditional. Far away from the Sushis and else bars, we are invited to discover unknown flavors. Perfect service, perfect atmosphere. But of course, for such a quality, it does not come cheap. A real treat

This is a tiny little Left Bank restaurant on a quiet street, with great service and fabulous Japanese food (with a slightly French flair). Not a tourist place at all! Dishes are beautifully presented, and the food is fresh and delicious. The staff are all extremey helpful. It was a delightful evening! View menu

We choose it because it was close to the Odeon and Google told us it was the best Japanese restaurant around. Don´t know the rest but this one was top marks. The service, led by Yuko, was so polite and helpful it felt like being in Japan. More importantly with the food it felt that way to. Their speciality is Tepan style but the other plates like the aubergine or the meat were fabulous. The okonomiyaki or Japanese crepe was incredible. The funny thing is that the dessert special they had was what most surprised us. The tiramisu would be the envy of any top restaurant. They also had lots of sakes but we went for the champagne! Congratulations Azabu.

As many of the reviewers here, we chose this restaurant because it was close to the hotel and had good marks on both Google and Tripadvisor. The food was incredibly tasty and good quality, authentic and refined. The staff were also very nice, they devote themselves to make your experience there as pleasant as possible. The only thing I would point out, is that their french is not the best, so it's kinda hard to understand, which makes the communication quite difficult. Also, although the food is really good quality, this restaurant is maybe a little overpriced, specially the drinks, which are half the price of a 30€ elaborated dish. That simply doesn't make sense to me. Nevertheless, we enjoy...
