"book in advance for a meal in bistro 7. we were not disappointed. restaurant fully booked. we had a starter main thing. too full to eat a dessert. I order the pate for the starter and must admit that I would have eaten it again, it was so delicious. my man arranges the deaf for the starter and he enjoyed it. our main thing was the bark-dryganoff and the steak. a good portion and delicious food. a beautiful atmosphere in the restaurant. our only negative point would be too many tables in the restaurant, as their very close to other diners, plus no handsanitiser in the bathroom. we recommend you eat in this restaurant"

Really nice restaurant and the service can't be faulted. The Shropshire blue cheese mushrooms were a delicious starter. The guinea fowl was very nice.

very tasty and well-baked meal times, pleasantly presented and at a reasonable price. excellent service and restaurant decor the sections for the main courses were quite small and let us wish more (not that we even part of the 'pile it high / as much as they can eat 'brigade! . Maybe it's a cunning plan, the appetizers and desserts to sell this fall and also excellent a visd

We were staying in Ludlow during the week of my birthday but they were fully booked. Beverley took our details to see what she could do and then managed to make room for us on the night before my birthday. She really went out of her way, it was much appreciated. Food and wine was excellent and we couldn't fault it or the service received. It's a lovely place and I would highly recommend it. View menu

had one of the best meals I had in my 40 years as vegetarian. not only did chef put so much effort in his extremely tasty non-meat selections as he full-menu with his as tasty (a holiday through the reviews of my colleagues diners), he was extremely charming and generous with his ideas and sources. on a rainy Wednesday in the february the restaurant was almost in the capacity to ensure that they book.

We have had one of the nicest meals ever at this restaurant on Friday 29th September. From the moment we arrived the service was attentive and top class. The selection of wines is amazi nong Our order was taken in a timely manner and the food was served in a timely manner too. It was top class. Desert was a true show stopper. I highly recommend the Tiramisu. Vegetarian options: Separate vegetarian/vegan menu Dietary restrictions: With prior arrangement they will happily accommodate dietary requirements

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."

"Open since 1970 and located on Mardol, one of Shrewsbury’s oldest streets @thecurryhouseshrewsbury serves locally sourced ingredients married with traditional spices and chillies from the Indian subcontinent, a match made in heaven. 5 5 Recommended Price No better way to kick off proceedings but with popadoms, chutneys and fresh onion salad. On to appetisers and there are so many tempting dishes to choose with many of these exclusive to the curry house. Our first time trying Pani Puri. A sweet and spicy hot street food snack filled with chickpeas and tamarind sat on a bed of crunchy, nutty Bombay mix. With a building but pleasant heat, definitely something everyone should try. The quality and freshness of the seafood was exceptional. Spicy king prawns were huge and cooked to perfection. Charred on the outside for flavour but juicy and meaty. Trio of King scallops were beautifully tender and of a good size with sweetness from the tamarind liquor. Lamb rogan Josh tender lamb shoulder in a medium hot ginger tomato and onion sauce. A strong take on a traditional favourite of ours. Fresh from the Tandoor a generous mix of marinaded chicken, lamb, king prawns and a chargrilled lamb chop. The Tandoori deluxe massalla sauce was the perfect blend of sweetness melting into a subtle heat which brought the dish together perfectly. The curry house takes traditional dishes and flavours from the Indian subcontinent and elevates them to a level beyond expectations. Thank you for our invite to share the exciting menu created with passion and creativity. "Fantastic range of small dishes and meals for lunch and dinner. The menu ranges from scandi to oriental, so something for everyone. The menu is clearly marked with allergens, including what meals can be adapted. The chicken is halal and vegan and vegetarian options are plentiful. The cocktail and mocktail menu is great and they do one of the best espresso martinis in Shrewsbury. The decor is modern and comfortable and there is plenty of space. As a wheelchair user, I can get into the ground floor and to a table. The outside seats are up a small step, but the whole front of the building is a retractable wall of windows, so I can still get the feeling of eating outside in good weather. The service is friendly and knowledgeable about allergies, the menu and the wine list. The staff are helpful and unobtrusive. The only difficulty for me (hence the 4 star review) is that the accessible bathroom is next door, in their sister bar, Libertine. Unfortunately, libertine isn't open the same hours as HotRS, so I can only use it at certain times. The ladies does have a lock on the door, so staff have cleared the ladies toilets, which allowed me to take my chair in and lock the door. I had to walk a couple of steps to get into a stall but my chair was safely with me. Of course, there is also no alarm cord, but they stood outside the door so would have heard if I shouted for help."
