Bistro De La Porte - Menu

We had a fabulous multi course prix fix meal of fresh local and seasonal foods and great wines in this small, cosy bistrot. It hit all the marks, don’t miss it!

It is no longer the Dijeaux known a few years ago. Very friendly waitress, service a little long but from this point, you can see the diverse passers-by walking around peacefully.

We had breakfast (pleasant setting on Piazza Gambetta) average French coffee (American), bread and jam (ok). What was terrible was the service, unpleasant, rude staff who don't make an effort to speak other languages ​​other than French. View menu

This was on the list of places to go to when we went to Bordeaux and so we looked it up and really loved the food. This bistro is always busy and so go early, if you'd like a table. There is plenty of choice...on the menu and the food is very good, nicely presented and the portions aren't small. I can recommend the foie gras, the plate with smoked salmon and also the ham platter. We liked it so much, we went again. I can highly recommend it.

The location is great, The Bistro de la Porte is right beside the Porte de Dijeaux. The food is very good and the service was extremely good. It was fast, pleasant and helpful. As to prices? They were fine too considering the location. We had...the Pâté de fois gras as a starter and the white fish as the main dish. It was all very good but not excellent. However I would definitely recommend this place. We sat for ages just enjoying life and watching it go by.

Everything was ruined by the server. Unpleasant and disrespectful, it does not at all give the urge to eat in the restaurant but rather the opposite: get up and go, what should be a good time with friends. The waiter in this restaurant is just straight harsh, more in a disrespectful way. once you’ve come to contact with him all you want to do is get up and leave. He’ll ruin what was supposed to be a good time. as long as he s there like that, if you want to have a good time, just go elsewhere. View menu

This is a restaurant, but I use it to rest, read the news, do a puzzle, sip wine and watch the world go by. The location by the Gambetta park, not far from the south west corner of the Golden Triangle and the open space...guarantee the flow of people. My glass of wina came unasked with a dish of a dozen olives. It sits at the west end of a long shopping street, closed off from traffic, that would take you to the Galeries Lafayette department store and McDonalds at the north end of the almost mile-long Rue Ste Catherine wth yet more shops.

My wife and I decided to sit at a table at this busy main thoroughfare restaurant for my birthday dinner. We arrived at and were able to grab a good spot right on the Place to people watch and enjoy a glass of wine....Unfortunately the young men who were our waiters were more interested trading jokes with the other diners closer to their age and service was very slow. It was hard to catch their attention. When we finally got our food my wife's salad needed more dressing but we couldn't get a waiter. I'm happy to report that my duck breast was delicious.

Sought out this bistro based upon TA reviews and convent location close to our hotel. on a wet Sunday evening and the restaurant was packed, waiter found us a table for two. The wait staff were literally run off their feet, coping with customers....Ordered a couple of beers and wine. Then ordered dinner. Escargot for entree and a steak and duck for mains. Unfortunately the entree and mains arrived together with apologies from waiter. Escargot well,presented and tasty. Steak with salad, fries and marrow. Nicely presented, steak a little tough but not unexpected- cooked to order and delicious. Duck breast nicely cooked pink and flavourful. View menu
