"We popped into the coffee bothy for a takeaway order a few weeks ago. We were served quickly and the waitress was lovely. We ordered 2 portions of soup 2 toasties all to takeaway. We were charged £19.80 which at the time I did feel was expensive but had heard good things and was staying positive. After around a 20 min wait we were given our bag of food and we headed out to the car to eat our lunch. All I can describe this as is daylight robbery. I opened up the bag to see two toasted sandwiches wrapped up in tinfoil for the price we paid I was expecting a takeaway box with a nicely presented toastie and side salad. The soup was a takeaway cup size which I appreciate is probably standard and it was tasty. To make matters worse the chicken inside the toasties was of terrible quality, very rubbery and chewy and the cheap mayo wasn’t much better. Shame as this place looked really nice, however the prices they are charging definitely don’t match the portion or quality of food they are producing."

Visited this week for breakfast. Excellent customer service, spotlessly clean. Bacon and sausage rolls were delicious. Reasonably priced. Plenty of parking. Highly recommended.

We waited a while for our food. I went for a prawn sandwich and a small mug of soup. Whilst the sandwich was nice, our lunch came to £28. A bit expensive for a lunch. Don’t know if we’ll be back.

Walked from the nearby campsite for a coffee with our dog . Sadly it is NOT dog friendly , even the outdoor bit of the cafe . Gave up on a coffee so just I went into the shop …..not impressed, very expensive and not very imaginative. Will not visit again

I know they do other foods here and they're nice too but I usually opt for the home made soup with warm crusty roll which never disappoints. Nice farm shop attached which, while not cheap, has a lot of nice stuff, fresh and frozen. Try the soup though you won't regret it. View menu

Had a superb Sri Lankan lamb curry with rice, naan and spiced mango chutney. My wife had a goats cheese and red onion tart with couscous. Both dishes were delicious and served with a smile. This is a busy place so try to get in early plus it’s not cheap but well worth it.

False advertising! The special sandwich was describe on the board as sandwich with salad and chips, but what we actually got was sandwich with a little salad garnish and a tiny bowl of crisps, although it was all tasty it was not what the board said and was not value for money. I felt a bit cheated and disappointed

We actually didn't go in to the coffee bothy, my partner popped his head round the door and asked if we could sit outside with our 2 dogs but the answer was NO DOGS so they lost out on a sale. We take our dogs with us on lots of trips and most restaurants/cafes allow them inside or an area outside so we were quite shocked that we couldn't sit anywhere with them. Think they are missing a trick, won't be back. View menu

We have had lunch here many times and always lovely .Today was disappointing .We ordered a toastie which was £8.95 and .60p to toast. The plate consisted of 2 small slices of toast with a lovely filling and salad garnish. What happened to the lovely thick bread we used to get which looked like a proper toastie. This is extremely poor value for money and really annoying as it puts us off coming here again and this is one of our favourites. It takes us just over an hour to get here. I read another review of a similar nature so please do something about this. Last week we had a small fish and chips with peas and a large side salad for the same price in a garden centre so you can do better.

Disappointed. We walked with our 3 wee dogs from Witches Craig caravan site (thoroughly recommend btw) On arrival noticed outside seating which is perfect for dog owners, after walking through a furniture dept, farm shop then reached the Cafe met with a young man who advised that we could not access the “balcony” area as customers were sitting at the door which gains access to the outdoor area we could wait 20 mins?? till the customers had finished!! Farm Shop and Cafe Bothy Managers although both very nice we’re unable to offer a solution and in fact we felt that dogs were certainly not made welcome. The “balcony” area is dog friendly it appears but only when the weather is warmer as the “i...
