"a couple days ago, the barista (a man in his late thirties/early forties) asked each of us in the queue our coffee orders quite abruptly. I told him what I wanted and he carried on making coffees and then take the payments when the coffee was ready to serve. It was really getting late and apologiaing, I asked him if he was actually making my coffee. He said obviously not, I will make it soon in quite an impolite way. I apologised again and told him that I had to leave and if he could cancel my order which of course hadn't even been paid for yet. I didn't get an answer, he looked at me like he couldn't care less, shrugged his shoulder and turned the other way like I was not worth his time anyway. Appalling service from that particular member of the staff"

I inquired if my small dog could come inside, and the friendly server replied, "Of course." I enjoyed a coffee while my dog happily nibbled on a biscuit. It was so nice to be greeted warmly.

My friend and I decided to grab a coffee, so we went to Caffe Nero. We were greeted with a very warm welcome that made us both smile from ear to ear (the high-quality coffee was an extra bonus). I would definitely recommend it, 11/10!

The barista started by telling me that she was short staffed and that I wouldn’t be getting a pot of tea. I explained how horrible tea tastes in a paper cup and had to practically argue with her to get the pot of tea I was paying for. She moaned at everyone who came in that she had no time to wash up. Very unpleasant service. Wasted our visit View menu

Buster and I were treated like royalty during our recent trip into Caffe Nero for a Frappe and dog biscuit! Staff made a big fuss of him, and I was delighted to note that anyone who stroked him then washed their hands vigorously in the basin behind the counter. Staff, and customers, were so welcoming. Lovely Frappe and lots of smiles! Recommend!

During our visit to Oxford, we decided to stop at this restaurant for a coffee and an egg and bacon muffin. While the coffee was satisfactory, the muffins were bland and lacked flavor. The condition of the toilets was appalling, with urine all over the floor and no soap available. Although a staff member did try to address the issue after hearing my complaint, I believe that the toilets should be regularly checked and maintained. Overall, I would not revisit this restaurant as there are better coffee shops in the area.

I love Nero and seek Nero out for the coffee no matter what city I am in. This Nero is tucked away on the The High Street, quite small and steep steps going down into the basement. We sat in the basement on lovely soft leather chairs but the whole room is 'cool ' and lacking personality. It is like they have just found this empty room, stuck a lick of paint on the wall, up goes a few pictures, put some pasting tables in with school like chairs and tah-dah! An average Nero? No!!!!!!!! But yes.............. Coffee always good but downstairs could be SO MUCH BETTER! View menu

I had not visited one of these cafes for ages, so I thought I'd check the High Street establishment out. As is my norm, I ordered the cappuccino and hoped that it would be good following a disappointing drink at another chain recently. I was pleasantly surprised to find both a great cup of coffee and very friendly, courteous staff. You would not find a better, stronger brew than I had here a good start to the day. Added to that was the extremely dark chocolate muffin. It makes a nice change to find such a decent cappuccino even better to have friendly staff who know how to make coffee the correct way. Well done!

I work on the Queen street in Oxford and always on my way into work I grab a coffee from Cafe Nero Oxford High Street. On a couple of occasions I have been served by the amazing Barista Leslie. I always go for the speciality caramel latte and she always does an amazing job it tastes great and you can’t definitely tell the difference in the taste when she makes it. She also has a warm and friendly manner with customers and customer service and ensures COVID rules are adhered to by all customers which is great. Thank you once again you make my coffees and trips to cafe nero great. I hope you read this and remember me! I’m that girl that told you your an Amazing Barista earlier on this week! Se...

"I've been going to Oxford for 3 years now and in that time to be frank struggled to find a decent go to restaurant. I can now say with delight i've found my destination. I present SPICED ROOTS a little caribbean culinary gem. The fresh perfectly cooked food is absolutely delicious and gives off that home cooked by mummy vibe and is beautifully presented. The chilli and garlic prawns had my eyes closed Mark Weins style (if you know you know) so juicy with an incredible depth of flavour, the Trini doubles not only were seasoned to perfection they left you wanting more and the Jerk chicken spring rolls were an absolute triumph. For mains we had the ackee and callaloo Jerk Tempah (vegetarian) and the Jerk chicken. Both came with rice peas, plaintain and salad. Not only were the portions huge the flavours of both dishes were just mind blowingly delicious. Then we embarked on dessert and had the beautiful spiced rum cake and a selection of 3 home made ice creams namely Coconut, Guinness and the old Caribbean favourite Rum and Raisin, all recommended by the owner. It's at this point I feel compelled to speak about the rum raisin ice cream. I've eaten this ice cream on numerous occasions at numerous locations in Jamaica over my many years and I tell you no word of a lie this was hands down the best rum and raisin ice cream I've ever tasted, it literally left us speechless. So to summarise, this place has great food, great music, great service and a wonderfully charming owner who's totally invested in serving great, incredibly tasty, authentic Caribbean food clearly prepared with love. What more could you ask for. Fair to say it was meant to be. Uncle Jay."
