"Booked a table last minute. We were staying at a nearby campsite. Very friendly staff, decor gorgeous, friendly locals (i like to caht) dogs welcome in certain areas bonus. Limited menu but was assured it was cooked fresh which we prefer. Would liked to have seen a freshly cooked childrens menu though because there was no childrens menu at all. My 2 children will eat freshly cooked food and with a little imagination can be done for children, does not need to be too fancy but also does not need to be frozen rubbish. Ambience was lovely. My husband ordered the beer battered fish, chunky chips and mushy peas- he enjoyed this (shared with our 8yr old daughter) My son ordered the small beer battered fish and chunky chips. I ordered the mushroom risotto, as i am vegetarian (no other choice for a veggie) it was very tasty, we ordered extra vegetables which were very good. In all a lovely meal. Just the above grumble about no childrens fresh cooked food menu and the lack vegetarian options."

Just back from an excellent Sunday Lunch at The Cayley Arms. One of the best in quality we have had for sometime. Great friendly attentive service.

I had the feather blade beef and mash, oh my days, where to begin? One word needed, WOW. It was delicious, my partner had steak pie which was also as nice, proper chips.

I recently stopped at this restaurant and enjoyed a delicious Big Cayley Breakfast. The sausages were amazing, the staff was very helpful and polite. I will definitely be back again. View menu

Best roast beef we have had in any restaurant. Good sized portions making the price good value for money. It had been many years since visiting this venue and we were amazed at the transformation. We would highly recommend.

Absolutely a beautiful meal. Great staff. We were wondering were to go for dinner we seen the Caley Arms reviews and decided to book a table. It's the best decision we made. The service was good and the food was even better. View menu

We stopped by on our last night of our trip and wished we had gone sooner. The food was delicious - my wife had the chicken with creamed leeks and I had the steak and ale pie. The service was excellent and the beer was tasty.

Our first trip to the Caley Arms but not our last I'm sure. We couldn't fault the food, service or surroundings. If you want good quality, freshly prepared, home cooked food then give this place a try but if your preference is for cheap food, frozen chips and piled high plates then try elsewhere.

"The problem began with our arrival. We are 3 adults in our mid-60s and we had already climbed one set of steps to access the bar in the pub. We were escorted to our room up two more flights of narrow stairs. On entering our room, we could smell the damp in the room and discovered mould on walls behind furniture and in the corners of the window frames. We checked the prices of the evening meals on offer and there wasn't enough variety for our party and they were quite expensive. So we decided to eat out. I asked what time the pub closed and was told, when the last customer leaves. I thought that was a bit vague so I said that we would be back at 10-ish. We arrived back just after 10pm to find all entrances to the pub were fully locked up and we were unable to get in. I called the pub and, after a while, my call went to voicemail with a message that there was no one to answer my call. I left a voicemail, this was followed by another message to say that there was no one to respond to my voicemail! My party had got back into the car as it was raining and I drove to the front of the pub and sounded my horn for some time then drove to the back of the pub. At this point, a man appeared saying he had a message to come and let us in so, finally, we got in to the pub to access our room. We had an uncomfortable night but managed to get up for the early breakfast (great breakfast! and check-out. We raised all the damp and mould issues with the man who had let us in and, as one of us was asthmatic, told him that we would be leaving a poor review of the room and that they shouldn't book that room out to any one else until the issues were resolved."
