"This restaurant is one of Val Thorens best kept secrets. Inside there is a gorgeous wine shop bursting with French wines at every price point and style imaginable. There are lovely tables for inside dining, but in sunny ski weather, the terrace right on the...snow is the perfect place to lunch apres-ski. The menu is not large, but don’t let that put you off. The dishes we had were extraordinary. And of an unexpectedly high standard. The frois gras for entree was served with steaming hot bread and a toasted brioche bun. Teamed with the rich but light frois gras, it was a taste sensation. We ate it slowly. The wines by the glass were excellent and we enjoyed a champagne with the entree. For main, the fish was an incredible dish. The fish melted in the mouth and was topped with a slightly Asian style sauce and sat on an ultra light bed of what may have been mashed parsnip and a few vegetables. Heaven. One of the best fish dishes I’ve ever eaten in France. That good. My friend had the beef tartare which was also elegantly presented and a taste sensation with just enough spice, egg and texture. Sitting in the sun watching the skiers, it was the kind of meal dreams are made of. We should have had dessert given how amazing the food was but instead settled on the white hot chocolate made with almond milk. Again a culinary delight pushing boundaries. Can’t wait to eat here again next season."

"Back to the Beavers after a decade, we forced The Star to always be there, just - on- the slopes above the Menuires, in front of the small village of apartments Les Montagnettes. Great place to stop for lunch or drink a drink, and to our pleasant surprise, also open for dinner! Ideal if you are in the Mountains and you don't want to cook. Good choice on the menu, including a number of local dishes. Very nice dining environment, thank you Damien and staff. (Original opinion) Returning in Les Menuires after a decade, we trod L'Etoile to be still there, right -on- the slopes above Les Menuires, opposite the little part village Les Montagnettes. Great place to stop for luch or a drink, and to our pleasant surprise, also open for Dinner! Ideal if you are in Les Montagnettes and don't want to cook. Good choice on the menu, including a number of local dishes. Very nice environment to have dinner, thank you Damien staff."

"Super expérience, petit restaurant perché au bord des pistes en bas de la station, dans un décor magnifique. Une vielle ferme en pierre à charpente apparente, au milieu de la montagne, magnifique cadre pour une prestation toute aussi top ! <br>La nourriture est délicieuse et locale au maximum, les plats comme les desserts sont incroyables, avec un service parfait, les serveurs sont souriants, simples, pas de superflue… un sans faute ! <br>La plus grosse surprise est le prix, qui est très acceptable pour un restaurant de station (25e la fondue), malgré la qualité des produits et le travail réalisé ! <br> <br>Il suffit de lire les commentaires négatifs pour comprendre que le restau est top, j’y mangerai à coup sûr à chaque venue à val Thorens ! "Nous avons passer une commande par telephone à un Matthieu pour des pizzas et possibilité de faire 1 pate c'est ok' , on nous à donner une heure. Nous arrivons légèrement trop tôt. On nous propose de patienter en prenant un verre. 10 min plus tard nous demandons apres notre commande personne n'a connaissance de notre commande et personne ne répond au nom de Matthieu et on reprend la commande. Nous patientons toujours au bout de 20 min (salle comble mais bon..) finalement nous recevons notre commande. Sans pate mais avec une pizza pour remplacer la pate (sans demander notre avis) nous avons patienter 35 minute en payant notre consommation de patience. Nous arrivons pour enfin les manger et que voyons nous ? Les 2 suppléments olives sur l'addition ne sont pas sur les pizzas. Nous pouvons comprendre qu avec un restaurant full cela est compliqué.. Mais l'organisation pour les plats à emporter laisse à désiré. Les pizzas sont bonnes et heureusement !"

"Located towards the end of the Vallons Les Enverses pistes near the foot of La Masse, Chalet de La Masse struck us as being slightly off the beaten track by being on the quieter side of the Les Menuires valley. It also struck us being one of the older establishments with a traditional charm. We hadn't booked for lunch, it's not a huge place, but we were found a table and our order was quickly taken. I guess if you really want to eat here, booking is recommended (though that applies anywhere). Service was efficient and friendly, the place had a nice ambience. We both went for the Peak's Burger, and at €23.00, were a good choice as they were delicious and competitively priced. Indeed, prices compare with other establishments, €4.80 for a small beer, €6.00 for a cappuccino etc. However, it was the first place in the valley that we have found that charges for water. It would have been awarded 5 stars if the toilets were serviceable! But at least we found the guinea pigs! Would happily visit again, recommended if you like somewhere with a bit of character and good food."
