"We’ve just completed the Cheshire Ring on a narrow boat and the Cheshire Cheese was the number one place to dine for atmosphere, great food and tremendous value at less than £20 for 2 mains (we had the lovely chicken korma) and 2 drinks including a good large Cabernet Sauvignon. It was quiz night but the pub was full long in advance. Unbelievable really good my number one dining experience of the trip."

Very family/dog friendly pub, with big beer garden. Great offers on pub grub in the week. Lovely sociable landlady. Would recommend, nice setting next to canal.

Our favourite dog friendly pub, we use it a lot, staff so friendly and it always has a good atmosphere. The 2 for £10 meals in the week is also fantastic for a cheap mid week meal!

Just want to say a big thank you to the ladies at the cheshire cheese. We had my daughters baby shower here last weekend and from start to finish the staff could not be more helpful. Such a lovely stress free afternoon. Thanks guys. View menu

I have been a local here for the last 32 years and they have always had friendly staff, cosy seating areas and an excellent selection of ales! My wife loves the meals and nibbles they have to offer, her fave is the chicken pakoras! 10/10 pub, will always be my local.

We visited here after visiting Wheelock farm which was only a two minute drive away. Excellent pub, staff were very friendly, food was excellent and would definitely come back when visiting the farm again. Parking is available down the side but make sure you pay as it’s not owned by the pub.

"I’ve never been before, we came yesterday for family dinner looking forward to a roast lunch dinner. The menu only had a choice of lamb or beef, not liking beef the choice for me was lamb. Within minutes a lady came to advise the lamb “had just sold out” I said I didn’t like beef but no other option was given and I therefore had to have the beef. The meal arrived the Yorkshire’s were not risen and burned. The vegetables were very nice the beef was shaped like a block mine was dry and over cooked. My husband had poured gravy all over his so he couldn’t tell but I don’t like a lot of gravy on my food and I could tell I gave my beef to him. We ordered a burger/cheese/bacon meal for our 12 year old, I made it really clear to the young girl to plead only out cheese/bacon/burger on and no healthy stuff no onions nothing she laughed and said she has a brother who is the same so understands we ordered the adult version as it said the children’s was for 10 years and under. My sons burger arrived with a load of crispy onions lettuce and tomatoes everything we had asked NOT to be added, I took the food off but he wouldn’t touch it having seen the salad was on it! After eating my main it was a massive disappointment to see the man behind us being served a roast lamb dinner when I was told it had all sold out!!!! I had ordered fruit crumble this was a massive portion in a bowl the crumble topping was nice but the fruit underneath tasted like melted jam rather than just gently cooked fresh fruit there was more fruit sauce than fruit making it quite sloppy I had a couple of mouthfuls and left it."
