"Was there with my gf for a short day trip to Doncaster. Everything about this place was fab. We ordered (cold plate) tuna tartar, (hot plates) mussels and scallops. We also open a bottle of white wine to go with the seafood. The seafood was all fresh and properly seasoned. We were amazed immediately after the first plate (tuna tartar) was served. But the most impressive dish to us was the mussels. Unlike the other two dishes, the mussels really lacked plating. but the mussels matched really well with the creamy sauce and the crusty bread. We at the end even soaked all the crusty bread to the really delicious sauce. It was an open kitchen setting and we got to watch how the two chefs cooked the food while we were eating. An overall very pleasant experience. We spent no more than £60 for three exceptional dishes with a bottle of wine!! It was worth travelling all the way from London to try it out. This time when we went here we were told that they were out of oysters on bank holidays. That was a shame but we will be back for the oysters!!! Price per person: £50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

The restaurant offers excellent service and food. The lunch meal typically costs between £20-£30 per person. The food and service are both rated 5 out of 5, while the atmosphere is rated 4 out of 5. Highly recommended dishes include Oysters on the Half Shell and Seafood.

I had no idea that fish could be so tender! I tried the pastrami salmon, seared scallops with black pudding and celeriac, and calamari. Each dish was beautifully presented, fresh, and absolutely delicious. This restaurant is a great lunch spot in Doncaster market. The service was friendly and efficient, despite a moderate wait. Dining in, the price per person was between £20-30. I highly recommend trying the seafood, seared scallops, small plates, and scallops with celeriac puree. Overall, I would give the food a 5, service a 4, and the atmosphere a 5.

Just been to the clam and cork, not what we expected at all, a wet fish stall selling Michelin star food. I had 6 oysters to start, they came with lovely dressing and Tabasco sauce they were some of the best I've ever had, the wife had sea bass with a bargee crust, yes I know but my god it was delicious and really worked, we also had calamari with chorizo sause and red pepper, you could not whish for something so tender all washed down with a beautiful rose wine, Thanks to the chef Dave and the team,we will definitely be back Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £1–10 View menu

Quick Review. This place was amazing. Reminded me of the fresh fish bars in Barcelona. The service was incredible, attentive and with purpose of the guest having a good time. This was a whistlestop visit. Drink options were great and I went for the house gin which was really tasty and garnished well. The oysters were great. Simple garnish of lemon and hot sauce. Was a tad surprised at the lack of mignonette but that’s no issue. The oysters were fresh and tasted great. The haddock croquettes were incredible. Well cooked and tasted fantastic. I love a venue where you can see the food being cooked! Nothing like seeing a blowtorch being used on a mackerel! I cannot wait for the next time I head...

The service at this restaurant was average. The chef and staff also checked in to see how the food was. The oysters were okay, but some seemed to be broken so my dad and husband ate those. The lobster linguine was delicious and we especially enjoyed the sauce. However, the mussels were not good. We had to spit them out because they tasted terrible, with about 4-5 of them being really bad. Unfortunately, after returning to the hotel, my husband got sick with vomiting and diarrhea, possibly from the bad oysters. About an hour later, my dad also experienced diarrhea. Thankfully, I have been okay so far. I mentioned the issue with the mussels to the chef, who apologized. Overall, I would give th...

"The welcome we received was pleasant, although not very personal, and our details were not checked, which was surprising considering how difficult it was to secure a reservation. The restaurant is not licensed, so guests are welcome to bring their own drinks. My husband and I brought two bottles of champagne, but we were not offered an ice bucket and were given standard wine glasses instead of flutes. The food was served promptly, starting with an amuse bouche of butternut squash veloute with a creamy accompaniment served in egg boxes. The chef explained the dish himself, and it was delicious. The second course, an aged rice dish reminiscent of a soupy risotto flavored with parmesan and espresso, was my least favorite. I found it poorly presented and the coffee flavor didn't come through well. The third course, a beautifully cooked lamb cutlet finished on a barbecue outside, was accompanied by flavorful lentils. However, the broccoli that came with it was plain and could have used some additional flavor. The dish was not explained to us. The fourth dish, which I initially thought was eel, turned out to be smoked eel and was served with beetroot. This was one of my favorite dishes of the night. We were served two desserts: a warm chocolate foam with orange sorbet and a deconstructed rhubarb custard with pink meringue pieces, both of which were delicious. The bill was not presented to us, so we followed the lead of other guests who left cash on the table as they left. My husband had a nice chat with the chef, and I joined in after a visit to the restroom. The chef was very knowledgeable and skilled with flavors. Overall, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of personality in presenting and explaining each dish. The experience felt somewhat impersonal and lacked interest. I believe guest interaction is crucial, so my tip would be for the restaurant to take the time to engage with guests, even if it means spending less time in the kitchen. I did not give a perfect score due to the presentation and slightly underwhelming flavors in some dishes. I believe that in fine dining, every element of the dish should be bursting with flavor. Despite this, we had an enjoyable evening and would return if we are able to secure a reservation."
