"Booked in advance for a meal for three on a Friday evening. The pub was absolutely rammed. Noisy and lots of people standing around hoping for a table. So the pub must be doing something right unless it is the case it is one of the only pubs nearby. The staff were seriously working hard and I was unsure there were enough staff to cover tables. Considering we were told we had to vacate our dinner table after two ours, our starters didn't arrive for 30 minutes. It was unfortunate that there were was a loud (I mean loud) party of people standing at the bar near our table and they were quite simply shouting. Shouting so loudly, I heard everything including the expletives which wasn't ideal for my daughter. I wondered if the staff would ask them to move out of the bar area as clearly there are diners. I wish we had been placed in the dining room at the back which appeared to be quieter. The food was good. Portion sizes ample and they accommodated my request to have dairy-free chips and not in the beef dripping. Good value for money. It was just a shame that there doesn't appear to be enough staff. Long waits between courses and I had to beckon over a waitress to order drinks twice. All staff friendly and polite but just looked completely over-run with punters and diners at the same time. Pub is in a beautiful village and clearly very popular."

The staff were very helpful right from the start in fitting us in for a meal. We had the pork loin and it was very tender with plenty of flavour. There was a little too much gravy for my tastes, but that is just me. The prices are also very fair

The food, drinks, venue and service were all outstanding. We also had a room for the night which was luxurious, clean and comfortable. The staff looked after us well all night. The village itself is also beautiful. If you are in the area you simply must visit the Dabbling Duck.

We had prep booked for 6pm,on arrival there was no one at reception only a notice saying go to the bar, which was very crowded. Eventually we found a waitress who gave us a table. We were not offered anywhere quieter to sit. The food was good but totally spoilt by the noise. I would not go again.

When you are paying £16 for burger and chips one would expect hand cut chefs chips and not over fried skinny frozen packet chips, very disappointing. Also there were 3 or 4 dogs running around the restaurant, one of which was constantly barking very loudly during the whole of our dining experience with no attempt by staff to deal with it. Spoilt our quiet family meal completely. We will not be retuning here. View menu

Lovely place, nice setting but they have ZERO customer service and staff that don't care. You have to book a table but restaurant half empty. Moving guest whilst dining to seat a larger table Run out of specials Run by kids and a frosty manager that just gives you lip service.i complained she wasn't least bit interested Food is really good but the painful service means we won't return, shame as just moved to the area. Lets not mention lack of toilet checks

We have been wanting to visit this restaurant for a while, so we took advantage of Norfolk Restaurant Week to finally go. The atmosphere was fantastic, warm and cozy with a lively energy. Despite being very busy, the staff did their best to provide great service. The food was excellent, with a wide variety of options and great attention to detail. Kudos to the chefs! We will definitely return and highly recommend this restaurant to others. The location is also lovely.

The Sunday roast at this restaurant was exceptional. I ordered the beef and requested it to be well done, which was no problem. The meal came with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, beetroot (a nice surprise), carrot, courgette, and plenty of thick, delicious gravy. The portion size was generous and I still managed to enjoy a sticky toffee pudding for dessert. It was not overly sweet but hot and tasty. The staff were friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable about the menu. Make sure to say hello to Maurice. I recommend booking a table and arriving early. The overflow car park could be better marked. Now, it's time for a nap! View menu

Finally made it to the Dabbling Duck today, tempted by Norfolk Restaurant Week. 1hr+ journey. Food and service was excellent. Loved the smoked haddock and mussel bisque. Very picturesque pub, inside and out, but our visit was marred by the awful, thumping music. Couldn't really hear the music apart from the heavy bass beat. Felt like there was a piledriver going in a building site next door! Asked waitress if they could turn it off or change it but just got a different version. Somebody has a speaker set up with way too much bass and completely inappropriate for the setting. We both left with headaches. Such a shame as all the food was great

I visited this restaurant and found it to be really nice with friendly staff. However, I left feeling hungry. Even though I normally find two courses to be sufficient, I felt that the portions from the Norfolk restaurant week menu were too small. The food was delicious, but there just wasn't enough of it. My fish dish came with only a few mushrooms and two small pieces of Jerusalem artichoke, lacking in substance. I'm unsure of what portion sizes are like on their regular menu. Additionally, there was no clear indication of allergy symbols on the menu and the waitress was unsure of their meanings. She did promise to find out and get back to me.

"We had pre-booked a table for 6 people to have lunch at 2:15pm. We arrived on time and were shown to the table, which had only been set for 4 people which meant we had to pull a further 2 chairs up to the table, and had to request a wine list. We ordered a round of drinks for the table which took c. 15 minutes to arrive. We were waiting a considerable amount of time for a food menu. Eventually we called a waiter over to order some food and were told that the kitchen we no longer serving, despite having booked a table for lunch and not being warned of the kitchen closing time. The staff told us to be quick in ordering however took a further 10 minutes to come and take the order. The food eventually came and the waitress didn 't even put the food at the correct place, she merely put them on the table for us to distribute accordingly. When the bill eventually came, we politely requested the *optional service charge was removed from the bill as we did not feel that we had received adequate service to warrant a tip, to which the manager began shouting that it as shocking that we wanted to rightfully remove the tip. He went on to say that the kitchen staff had stayed over time to prepare our food. My question to the owner is this... if your chefs are unwilling to work over their hours, why are you offering a reservation close to closing time whilst your staff are incapable of processing the orders to the kitchens in the correct timescale and working hours. If we were told that the kitchen were closing soon, we would have cooperated with the staff to help them work to their time scales."
