"We are extremely lucky to live very close to the Fordwich Arms, Fordwich! We are, again, very lucky to have been able to visit the Fordwich Arms, many times before the world around us changed!?We were able to visit the Fordwich Arms again, post lockdown, unbelievably the food and service has got better!? Cobbled cheese tart, lobster and scallop to start! Can’t separate them. All fantastic!Followed by suckling pig, lamb and turbot. The. Yer it was spectacular!!!I cannot believe everything has got better??I’ve not mentioned the service yet, only because it’s so good I never even realised it was happening? How good is that? The staff, food and setting are excellent!I really cannot fault anything, it’s worth a visit wherever you live ??"

Another quality meal at Fordwich Arms. Does not disappoint on fine dining. Not cheap, but well worth it.

I was on the receiving end of a generous act of kindness by a member of The Fordwich Arms staff, earlier today. Can only imagine what a great place this is, based on the calibre of employees. View menu

Incredible food and lovely setting. Didn't opt for the tasting menu this time but with the 3 course menu and all the little extras it felt like we did! Highly recommend The Fordwich Arms to anyone wanting to go somewhere a bit special

We had a family lunch indoors. We picked off the a la carte menu but the little extras such as the amuse bouche and home made bread and butters added to the experience. We all ordered different things and could not find fault in any of it. It was delicious. The service was very good too. Definitely somewhere special

A birthday surprise and what an absolute treat. We had the Tasting Menu and it was amazing. Food and service was fantastic. We sat in the bar area and this was lovely very chilled, good music. There is nothing unostentatious about the Fordwich Arms. It was a fantastic occasion and I never will forget it. Thank you to the whole team. View menu

We had a lovely family meal. The service was almost impeccable, and the food was delicious. However, we were disappointed to learn that the tasting menu was only available for the entire table. We were dining with our elderly parents, who have small appetites, and we, the younger members of the family, were eager to try the tasting menu. Our parents would not have minded waiting for us to finish each course. In the future, we would appreciate it if you could clarify this policy rather than simply refusing our request.

The food was exceptional as was the wine selection which included a number of English vineyards. We chose the â la carte menu and were very pleased with the choices. I suppose the only comment we would make is that it's basically a pub albeit an elevated one and the service reflects that. Which doesn't mean that anyone was rude far from it but there was a fair bit of shouting and loud talking in/out of the kitchen and up/down the bar. My expectation when paying £75pp is that the staff would perhaps be a little more circumspect but in no way did it detract from the absolutely amazing food.

"After never visiting Canterbury before we where looking for somewhere to have a late lunch, we came across this place which looked ok, upon entering the back room we were offered to take a seat in the front area and someone will be with us. We asked what food there was and we where sarcastically shown the food on the blackboard, after choosing what we wanted the polite man went off and put the order in. We did feel that because the man had asked a couple of questions to another member of staff that he was spoke down too a bit. Anyway after placing the order and what we wanted the food came out it wasn’t correct but because it seemed like we were going to interrupt the people in the back room we just took what we had. It was nice food though. When we went to pay we hadn’t noticed that there wasn’t a price list so when we asked for the bill we were told that it was donation, what we thought was enough, it wasn’t posted anywhere and it took us by surprise as we where standing at the till, I was going to pay in cash but was told they don’t take cash so I had to give my donation in card by telling the person how much we where donating. After plucking a figure out of air as we wasn’t prepared we paid and left. Upon leaving we felt that the person we paid thought we hadn’t paid enough and wasn’t happy with the amount but after working out what we would have paid properly we worked out that we had paid more than what it might have been if there was a proper price on everything. Overall it has a great ethos and it’s great for giving people the experience that they need to be in a working environment but they need to show the price or tell customers first that it’s donations and card only."
