"I visited many places in Edinburgh, but this was my first time at Gautam's, and I was not disappointed. Even without a reservation, I received a warm welcome. The Indian cuisine was incredibly delicious—well-prepared and beautifully presented. It's rare to find restaurants in the area that maintain authentic flavors while catering to local tastes, but Gautam's excels at this. The staff is very friendly, and the seating is comfortable and clean. We truly enjoyed both the food and the hospitality. The biryani was outstanding, and the portion sizes were generous, leaving us very satisfied. I will definitely be back—it has quickly become one of my new favorites!"

The food was good. Spice has been tuned down for non-indians (i prefer original). Paneer wasn't pre marinated/spiced, so was a bit bland.

Absolutely brilliant! Got a take out Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Pakora, Pilau Rice and Garlic Naan and wow. It’s so delicious such huge helpings for takeaway and I still wanna eat more! Definitely try this if you love curries.

The staff were very inviting and kind. They gave us great recommendations and descriptions of the food to help us decide with our order. Lovely food well presented and served. My boys say it will hive ruined my home made curries as the bar has been raised. Food was tasty and served in a timely fashion. Surroundings are comfortable. Staff are attentive. Layout is on one level so good for my Dad who can not get around easily. Main road so parking was an issue however we could drop off outside and park further away. Mid to high pricing however well worth the price.

We came here after a long drive from London we left very satisfied! I've lived in India and been to many Indian restaurants in London but this is one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to! Spot on service, very friendly and helpful staff, food arrived quickly. The interior is very cute , it has a nice atmosphere! We ordered Chana Masala, Saag Paneer (two of our favs, absolutely fantastic and Paneer Shashlik would recommend all : . Lastly, I really liked that they gave mint chocolates with our bill, very few restaurants do it nowadays but I think it's a lovely little touch whenever they do.
