Hamilton Russell Arms

Great food and good portions. I had the Hot Shot Parmesan pictured. The Sticky Toffee pudding was a great surprise and the best I've had- very moist and soft sponge.

Sat outside in nice seating area, only downside was you couldn't have a tab or order drinks/food at table, you had to go inside to the bar area, but food was superb and the menu was excellent

Great venue, friendly team, nice quality food, good selection on the menu. Excellent drinks range, nice atmosphere in the bar area with an open fire. Dog friendly in all areas, and you can book table's.

Popped in for a pint pity there wasn't any pales ales but had a refreshing amstle, food looked good so had a few starters as a snack, very nice and well presented, long time since we'd been to the Hamilton Russell but will be popping in a few ore times I think. The staff were very friendly. Well done

Lovely walk to Thorpe Thewles to have lunch. I tried the parmo platter which was fantastic, with chunky chips. Other meals also looked nice and good size portions. Staff are lovely and really attentive. Massive bonus is that dogs are allowed so lovely spot to pop in if you've been out for a walk with the pooch. Would definitely recommend.

Went there for a Sunday/birthday dinner and have been here several times over the years!!! Was a bit dubious as the standard of food was questionable. However that was before covid!!! There wasn't anymore chicken but it was nearer 1500 hrs. We had the beef which was quite nice!!! The portion sizes were really good and my granddaughters child portion would've done 2!!! All in all a good experience.

I usually visit for a meal once a month or so and last year had my birthday here with family. Tonight I'm disappointed. Prices have gone up a fair bit which I don't mind in todays world but the portions are much smaller. My wife and I were both still hungry after our main meal. Noone asked how our meal was or if everything had been okay. On another note I was initially charged for the wrong table, then when they found my bill it was incorrect and I'd been charged more (only after requesting an itemised bill). Overall disappointed...should have stayed in the house and ordered a takeaway. Won't be returning.

We used to go here all the time but times have changed along with the service and the food. I ordered my favourite meal steak and it was a disappointing dinner. The steak come cut up into slices i dont know anyone who cuts a steak into slices before serving. I could understand it on other meats but not a steak. It was not cooked to my request and the chips were standard. We had a sticky toffee pudding for desert and it was disgusting. It tasted burnt and was crunchy around the edges as though they put it in the microwave for too long. We had only two courses and it took over 2.5hrs to serve both courses. For the price of the meal you would get a better and cheaper in a chain pub like weather...
