"We waited over an hour for our food, which wouldn't have been an issue if we had been informed about the long wait when we placed our order. The sea trout was delicious, but the vegetables were simply boiled and quite disappointing. On the bright side, the walnut treacle tart was excellent, and the beer was well-kept. Overall, the price per person is around £30–£40. Ratings: Food: 3, Service: 2, Atmosphere: 4."

Loved this place great on a lovely day as the view is very peaceful. The pub was nearly too busy for its own good, but when some more staff came in, it clearly picked up!

What an amazing find by accident. Impromptu decision to follow the sign to the pub on the road out of Wallingford, led to an amazing view, great food and really friendly service. We will be back!!

Friendly staff and landlord, excellent and generously portioned food, spectacular vistas especially from the raised seating area near the car park. My wife and I love this pub and its location. It's just a pity we're an hour's drive away. : .

Service/attitude sucks Unpleasant! Why a service charge simply to carry the food to the table this should be already incorporated into the price. No surprise it was almost empty. Won't be going back anytime soon. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3 View menu

Significantly better than my last visit. The food is now of a higher quality, and the staff is more attentive. We were a group of eight, and every dish we ordered was fantastic. The only downside was that we were missing one dish from each course.

Fantastic pub, food excellent, views spectacular, especially from the raised seating area which catches the last of the sun. Friendly, happy to serve us a pint even though they officially closed 3 hours ago. Dogs very welcome. Fantastic walks with a pint at the end. Will be back soon

"My wife and I ate here on a Sunday night, and were really impressed with what we found. It is a wine bar, which serves a reasonably extensive snack menu. Think of it like a French tapas kind of idea, with a number of small plates on offer to eat whilst sampling the many wines, rather than a traditional restaurant serving starters and mains. We ate the wild garlic pesto tartiflette, which was delicious, and also had a charcuterie board, with generous portions of iberico ham, parma ham and cooked ham, together with bread and chutney, which was equally delicious. The other plate we ordered was a prawn and avocado salad in a balsamic vinegar dressing. This too was really tasty and was a generous size. It being a wine bar, there are numerous wines on offer, but what we chose to do was the wine flight, where you each get three small glasses, each of a different wine. I chose the Bordeaux flight and my wife chose the Rioja flight. For about £15 each, we thought it was good value and enabled us to try six different wines for a reasonable price, all of which complemented the food perfectly. There are also both white and sparkling flights available, as well as a good wine list, most of which were very reasonably priced. The restaurant/bar itself is relatively small, and reminded me of a cosy ski lodge, with wood panels on the wall and nice bench seats. The atmosphere was very nice, and the service was excellent. All in all, it was a lovely evening and we really enjoyed our visit and would have no hesitation returning if we are ever in the area again."
