Nelson - Menu

I visited last night for the quiz night with friends the food was amazing and I loved the crowd. This is the first time I have visited since the refurb but it won’t be the last.

we have booked a table in the sports area to watch the rugby. the personal was very busy, but friendly and composing. the food was excellent. many thanks for a beautiful evening

The bar staff was friendly and the drinks were good, but the food was very average. The chicken burger arrived in less than 5 minutes after ordering, but the chips were dry and lukewarm. View menu

I visited the restaurant on Saturday and enjoyed watching the game followed by an amazing band performance. What more could you ask for? A perfect combination of sports, music, and good food!

Nice pud and really friendly staff, they even remember your drinks order like good old days. It’s recently been all done out and is as good as it gets. They had a singer on, he was doing the classics and wasn’t to loud, we had a great night.

Pub was quite quiet late Sunday afternoon...ordered 3 meals 2 were pies both had to be sent back as they were still frozen in the middle ....they came out with new ones but I think there must of been a chip shortage as there was only about 6 on the plate. This was my first visit back to the Nelson since it was refurbished and I wasn't disappointed. Food was lovely and the service was great. I took my dog with me also and the dark haired woman made us feel very welcome by making sure she had a bowl of fresh water. I love the new beer garden area the atmosphere was great full of families and groups of friends enjoying themselves. The service remained excellent throughout our visit. I'll be back again very soon

Visited my parents and decided to try the Nelson, which has recently been renovated. Very disappointed in the quality of food. Average of £12 per meal, the fish was burnt, chips cold, my dad's gravy was set solid in the gravy boat, unable to pour. My sons meal was not served with the sauce, even though we pointed it out to the waitress. I tried to give feedback when leaving, but unfortunately the landlord made it personal and offered me some advice, that I need to consider how I give feedback. I agree, I am no expert in complaining, I have never felt so strongly to complain. The landlord obviously had more experience in receiving complaints. This was my first time back since they reopened after the refurbishment , the place looks fantastic inside and out we were welcomed as soon as we walked in for lunch the staff were very friendly I ordered the chicken bacon salad and it was one of the nicest salads I have ever had the chicken was grilled to perfection I asked for no cucumber and they obliged , the dressing , grilled peppers and tomatoes were all so tasty My friend ordered the katsu chicken curry with chips , again the chicken was so moist and the chips were golden brown , and as well as the curry sauce that was on the meal it was served with an extra side of curry perfect for dipping our garlic cheese bread in They came over...
