We where just passing through on our short holiday , we found the food well priced and the staff very friendly , it’s a small place so suggest book in advance , great choice of food if you love pork , we will come again when down south

we had a private event at the Pig and Pallet recently to celebrate our wedding with friends and family. Marcus, Robbie and the amazing staff went above and beyond to make the restaurant look fabulous. The food was so tasty (we went with 3 Americans and all of them loved the BBQ food and said the ribs were ‘phenomenal’ . The service was attentive and really friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone! Thank you!

We came here for our anniversary dinner and it was absolutely incredible. I had a pulled pork burger with steak and peppercorn topped chips and my partner had a double beef burger with poutine topped chips. It was absolutely to die for. All of the staff were really friendly and we loved the way the place were decorated but the food was out of this world! Worth every single penny. The portion sizes were really generous too.

here for lunch booked a table for 3pm wanted something different and it was! was with a wheelchair driver they were there with the ramp quite steep to get in and out, but the effort worth all the workers were nice and smiling and welcoming received no name but the serviermann with the bart above all! very attentive the eating was great and many of them we had the smoked grilled meats try! about all a very pleasant afternoon here not disappointed and we will be back thanks to young!

The first time we were here was last year and the food was fresh, tasty, reasonably priced and we loved it . Sadly tonight's second visit was a very different experience. The menu has changed. The smoked sausage I thought delicious last time is now a shrivelled very dry, tough overcooked hot dog. The ribs were overcooked and dry. There is no salad garnish and no coleslaw. The beans are in the tiniest ramekin possible. There were literally 14 beans in it. Yes I'm sad and counted! The fries were OK but for£4.50 I would have expected a decent size portion. The Pig and Pallet is the perfect example of style over substance. The intention is to make you believe that the restaurant is run along the lines of an American smokehouse that specialises in mouth-watering, succulent cuts of meat accompanied by inventive and complimentary side dishes. The impression is also given that the place cures its own meats. It doesn't. The faux curing room is but a storeroom and extension of the kitchen. As for the food, my brisket burger, or whatever the cut of meat was intended to be, came as a small portion of cold, flavourless meat in a proprietary bun. That was it. Nothing else. Visited The Pig and Pallet while on holiday in Topsham. Really enjoyed the food. We decided to share a rack of ribs, two starters, a side and some loaded fries. This was more than enough for my girlfriend and I. My one and only gripe is that although, overall, the service was good, one server in particular seemed very short with us and was slightly pushy. I get that people have bad days and having both worked in hospitality, we completely understand what it can be like. If you are a carnivorous eater and want to feel right at home in a place that caters to your hunger, do not look for any other restaurant in the area of Exeter. We started with the chicken wings and not too quote another fine dining restaurant but they where finger licking delicious, we had them with their own home made BBQ sauce but there is the option to get them spicy. 5 of these for £8,50 can't go wrong there. As a lubricant on the side I had a lovely 1.2% powderkeg greenlight and my lovely wife a twist on a negroni. I visited Pig and Pallet with a couple of friends one evening. The setting and atmosphere was nice and rustic and first impressions were quite good, although the seating was admittedly fairly uncomfortable. In terms of the main attraction, the food, this was a complete and utter letdown. I had a dirty dog and poutine whilst my friends both had burgers and chips. The dirty dog was nothing special nor did it taste that great, it felt like a supermarket-bought hot dog whilst the pulled pork on top was really rather tasteless with no meaningful smoked flavour as you'd expect, utter let down which looked better than it tasted.
