"We visited yesterday, at the end of a day 's work. I bought a bottle of wine from Majestic, a block or so up the road, while my wife ordered food. I had fish pakora, freshly prepared, followed by Lamb and rice. My wife has a veggie main course (potato and something! followed by barfi. We were there early (just as they opened at 6 so the place wasn 't busy to begin with, but quite a few people ordered carry out curry boxes, and by the time we left quite a few seats were full. They prepare 'batches ' of most of the main courses (e.g Chicken, beef, lamb, the veg of the day which is good because it means less waiting time. We 're regulars, and we 've got to know quite a few of the ladies who run the show. So we had a chat where we all complained about the redevelopment plans which will mean demolition and a rebuild, and the restaurant closing in its current location some time next year I think. No one 's quite sure if that means closure for a while or a move to a nearby location. We also heard about PJ taking part in the foodie festival this weekend at EICC. This is good but cheap food. It 's also worth supporting because behind it is Sikh Sanjog, a charity that supports women, whether that 's integration, education or careers."

not very authentic at all but they don't really care about that best avoided if you want to avoid sitting on the lavatory for a day or two

it is one of those places that they want to make sure everyone knows, but still retains his win charm, and always has a free table with their name on it

Punjabi Junction offers a wide selection of dishes catering to vegans, vegetarians, and meat-eaters. The food is freshly prepared, the prices are reasonable, and the service is top-notch.

Great little Indian place. Would definitely recommend. The curries are really tasty and authentic (reminds me of my mum’s home-cooking! . It’s not fancy inside but this didn’t bother me as the food is delicious and very reasonably priced, it’s also BYOB. I’ll definitely be back!

I love punjabi junction. I love his ethos, I love to be eating, and I love his excellent value for money. Always when I go, I get in the rule the thali that she never has more than £7.80 and has a little of everything daal, curry, rice, yogurt, salat and chapatti. for me, its one of the most authentic Indian restaurants in edinburgh.

Sunita and the staff at Punjabi Junction were absolutely fantastic when they catered for our wedding earlier this year. We had dined at the restaurant before and were thrilled to learn they offered catering services for events. We visited the restaurant several times to meet with Sunita and sample various dishes to ensure everything was perfect for our special day. On the day of the event, the staff were incredibly considerate and worked tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare the delicious food. Our guests raved about the food and many asked where it was from. I highly recommend Punjabi Junction for weddings or large events, and am grateful to Sunita and the team for making our day truly am...
