"This place has good reviews so I decided to give it a try for a family dinner, thinking it might be reasonable. Irish pub playing American country music that should have been a sign to turn around and find something else. Took a look at the menu and saw the typical Swiss high prices, again, should have walked out. Only thing I saw on the menu I would consider Irish pub fare was the fish n chips. My wife had that, and said it was just OK. Rest of us had chicken wings and fries. Mediocre would have been a compliment for them. I get it, it 's Switzerland, things are expensive, but I don 't mind when I get good quality. We had dinner the night before at another (local Swiss) restaurant and it was great. (Restaurant Ende der Welt) Should have went back. I also learned that you get charged for tap water at the Core. Supposedly this is normal? I was not charged at he other local place. I guess they appreciated me spending over $100 chf and didn 't mind pouring some water from the tap and washing a few glasses for my business. Tried to have the charge removed but manager was condescending and said 'it 's only 8 chf ' well right back at you it 's only 8 chf you should have removed it and had a happier customer willing to give a good review. Plenty of much better places in Engelberg."

"After a lovely hike, we enjoyed a well-deserved coup on the large and very well-kept terrace of the Wasserfall restaurant. The selection is large and very modest and the coups were completely convincing, both in terms of taste and appearance. Unfortunately I have to deduct one star for the unsatisfactory service. The waiter tried hard but was obviously still very inexperienced, but since we work in the catering industry ourselves, we also know how extremely difficult the personnel situation is at the moment and everyone is grateful for every helping hand, so I don't want to be too harsh on the judge. With a little more practice, the ice cream cards will almost certainly not be left on the table after ordering and you won't have to mention three times that you would like to pay (and then ultimately have to go into the dining room to settle the bill). The waiting time of 45 minutes for 2 coups (mind you when the terrace was only half full) was also a bit long. But we will definitely stop at the Wasserfall restaurant again the next time we are in Engelberg, because the ambience and quality are simply great."

"Wow! Das Restaurant ist wunderschön gelegen und überzeugt mit einem schönen und gemütlichen Ambiente. Das Apéro hatten wir in einem tollen Weinkeller. Da ich mich vegan ernähre, habe ich zuvor mit Frau Odermatt mein Menü besprochen. Frau Odermatt sowie das Team waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, sie haben sogar extra ein veganes Kokoseis gemacht! Alles hat wunderbar geschmeckt. Der Rest der Gruppe hat Fleisch oder Fisch gegessen und war ebenefalls sehr zufrieden!Wir können dieses Restaurant sehr empfehlen!Herzlichen Dank für ein schönes Geburtstagsfest."
