"Rainy Sunday morning in Paris. We have early tickets. Noone is on the street, but the line inside the Louvre for our 9:30 access is 45 minutes long. But we sneaked in the side door on Rue De Rivoli and didn 't have to stand outside....Hadn 't visited in years, but knew it well, and we 'd agreed to go to the odd places, no Mona or Winged or David; we hiked down to the Decorative Arts to see the Emperor 's chambers, then walked through Northern Euro Paintings to be blown away again by the PP Rubens, the Van Dykes, and the Rembrants. Now, 3 hours since we entered, the thought of walking all the way out, walking in the rain, finding a comfortable place to eat, and then hiking back was not pleasant. We had passed Café Angelina on the way in and, knowing it would not be economical, we decided it would be the right solution for the moment. The entrance to the restaurant features an interesting solution: the line outside waits in the hall with no view of the interior of the restaurant, which is blocked by a huge, clouded piece of glass. Those inside have no sense of any pressure from outside for admission. Given the rain, we were invited in fairly quickly and given nice seats beside the window overlooking the Pyramid. The menu appeared, and no surprise, the (quite interesting Club Sandwich and the Caesar Salad were 23.50 Euros. But there was fresh squeezed orange juice for 7E and a bottle of sparkling water for 3.5E. The food came quickly, and the waiter was pleasant. It was after he left that I noticed that the salad was limp and brown with age. I called him back and asked if I could get a salad made that day. He quickly too the offending bowl and soon returned with a replacement, which looked a little better. (I suspected he had tipped my bowl upside down into a new one and hidden the contents with dressing, but I wasn 't going to complain. The Club Sandwich came with 3 pieces of toast, something we don 't see anymore in the US, the land of bulging waistlines. But it was interesting because it was made with chicken, tomatoes, mayo, lettuce and bacon... and slices of hard boiled egg and a lot of mustard. Not traditional, but not at all bad. My wife had the Caesar Salad. It too was not at all bad. There was a lot of it, and many very large pieces of chicken. Like the rest of the world, there was no anchovy in the creamy dressing. Then we ordered dessert, 2 café Americano and one order, 4, of macaroons. The waiter returned shortly with the coffee and the news that, it being Sunday, there were no macaroons. My wife laughed and said, Sunday, old lettuce, and no macaroons. He responded, Its worse on Monday. That made for a good headline, but Angelina is still a good solution for lunch, although I mus add that the Café Americano was more than a little thin. Order an espresso or a double."

Angelina est une institution ! C'est un peu cher mais la qualité est au rendez-vous ! raffinement assuré. Le Mont Blanc est extra.

We've eaten at Angelinas in the Louvre, at Versailles and at Les Invalides. The quiche is very good, comes with a small salad. Nice wine list and their dark chocolate dessert was absolutely decadently delicious.

... porque lo vas a pagar. Tuvimos que hacer fila, pero los camareros pasaban completamente, no asignaban las mesas vacías y la gente se colaba por las puertas laterales y las ocupaba. Los camareros les atendían sin más...Carta reducida para comer. La ensalada César no estuvo mal. El risotto a la tomate insípido. Muy caro para lo que ofrecen, pero claro, dentro del Louvre no hay muchas opciones...

Nous avons eu la chance d'avoir une place en terrasse avec une jolie vue sur la pyramide.La carte n'est composée que de quelques plats pour un repas plutôt rapide type croque monsieur ou salade cesar.Franchement c'est très très bon (la carte est signée Ducasse il me semble), nous nous sommes régalés mais leur vrai point fort ce sont les desserts qui sont à tomber par terre...Seul petit bémol c'est assez cher pour un croque monsieur, un club sandwich ou une salade burrata...

One of the best experiences I enjoyed in Paris on the 2 weeks that I was there. Spent the entire day at the museum and got hungry and we got some food. The prices were worth it. Food was amazing. The hostess and the waiter...were extremely nice. It does help to greet them in French when walking in and when ordering food and drinks. At least say “Bon Soir” when walking in. Will definitely go back on my next trip. The view was amazing too!!! The deserts and coffee were so delicious!!!

we spent 8.5 hours in the louvre, so we needed lunch! and angelina was perfect. we arrived a little early in the morning and sat right away while we were there, the room filled. the waiter was super helpful and friendly. it was a few of them. best tasting we eat in paris and we loved the hot chocolate, the only thing that wasn't amazing was the mont blanc, we thought it was too sweet for us! we loved the room with view of the pyramid. it was not cheap, but it was for a great meal in a beautiful location and a chance to sit and rest in the louvre.

Os famosos doces do café Angelina na minha opinião são mais bonitos que gostosos, mais fama e tradição que sabor. Experimentamos além de outras tortinhas, o famoso Mont Blanc tradicional e o de frutas vermelhas, lindos, mas doce demais.O outro famoso, o chocolate quente "l' africain", muito saboroso mas impossivel de saborear até o fim, principalmente se acompanhado de um dos doces. Mas enfim, vale a experiencia de conhecer uma das patisseries mais antigas e famosa de Paris (1903), o lugar é agradável, o atendimento indiferente, os preços são altos.

Much like the gloved museum staff that shove you along if you stand for more than hand a half second in front of the Mona Lisa, this cafe has a veneer of class, but is completely vulgar underneath. Long wait to be served by an...unsmiling, irritated waiter who spit when he talked. Food was universally tasteless, ridiculously overpriced (23€ for a club sandwich, compared to the cafe at the entrance which serves baguette sandwiches for normal Paris prices), and prepared without care. One of us discovered a dead fly in her salad (see the uploaded photo). No apologies. We thought they offered us a desert as an apology, but they charged us for that too!
