"This place just gets better with every visit. Tom loves his restaurant and it shows. His staff are super friendly and the vibe is really welcoming…. It’s a wide variety of food options, and covers most tastes from burgers, calamari to a fantastic chilli…. if you are on the island and want some real quality restaurant food, this is the place…. book early when it’s sunny !!"

Nice but expensive just for coffee and cake. More a restaurant than cafe

Kids portion was significantly bigger than adult portion. Tiny burger on a tiny bun with a handful of fries!

Shocking attitude stopped In with my kid to ask for child to use the toilet and told NO use the public toilets even though those were closed for renovations and so was the portaloos. Unhelpful refusing a child and disgusting actually View menu

Been here twice during my week long stay in Millport. Fabulous food and service both times. The baked cod was sublime and the cocktails were also amazing. The limoncello spritz was to die for. Wonderful and thoroughly recommend but you do need to book as it gets busy in the evening.

Recommended by a friend and didn’t disappoint. Birthday lunch with family (and 2 dogs). Lovely menu. Highly recommend the Tarka Dahl. We were in a rush, so no time for dessert, but returned later for coffee and Scones (which were praised highly). Lovely team, too. Thank you Round Island Cafe.

"We were a party of 5, on a cold, very wet Saturday evening, coldest so far I would say! We drew up and saw a young family of 3 sitting with jackets on in the conservatory area, we were a bit concerned! We took a...seat at the back of the conservatory which proved to be a big mistake! There was a terrible draught coming from behind me, I did mention it and was told it was 27c at the middle of the room, but not where we were sitting!! I mentioned it a few times and sat with my shawl scarf on throughout! I pulled down the window blinds hoping that would help, nope!! We ordered our food, I asked about a vegetarian option for my husband, our waitress did say he could a veggie option on the curry and the tempura or risotto, which was helpful! I had to ask what was the soup of the day and also the pate!! I did feel that maybe in this day and age there should have been a small dedicated vegetarian area on the menu, but that’s just my opinion! 3 of our party had starters which were great, Cullen skink, scallops and langoustine tempura, Main courses arrived, 3 fish and chips, one lemon soul and one veggie tempura, all were excellent except for the veggie tempura which was large shards of onion and carrot in an albeit lovely batter, but not all vegetarians like huge chunks of vegetables! 4 of our party had a sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream, which was plentiful! Overall we had a pleasant meal, little or no atmosphere though, one of the younger waitresses (white shirt, black skirt) was friendly and more talkative, the waitress (dressed all in black)who served us was, we all felt a little disinterested and lacked any empathy with the guests! We asked for our bill, the youngest waitress came with the card machine and felt how cold it was only then did she check the windows to find there was one opened, hence the draught, which spoiled our visit because we were felling it cold!! We paid the bill and left a tip on the plate, no one came to say thank you for you custom, or have a nice evening, nothing!! All in all it was pretty inhospitable! Value you for money, it was good for the standard of the food!"
