"Having booked direct with Angela at Wooder Manor, I made the short, pretty walk along the main road, past the sheep in the Churchyard to the Rugglestone Inn. The place was heaving but there was a lovely, relaxed atmosphere and I was quickly shown to my seat in the corner of the bar by the fireplace. Everyone was being served in order without fuss. Vanessa and her team remembered people's names, what they were drinking and cheerfully welcomed and squeezed in anyone walking in without a booking. The fish pie and ginger pudding were both excellent but the way that the place is run enables locals to have a chat and drink whilst visitors eat meaning that this place seems to work for everyone. Will definitely be back. Ed H."

Busy pub for a Tuesday night in October. Our friends (locals) recommended the food and it was good local fare. Very isolated in the dark, but welcoming and great service.

Located a little out of tiny Widecombe on the Moor , Rugglestone Inn was a classic English country pub with good food and service and loads of atmosphere. It was also very popular and busy. View menu

One of our favourite pubs on the moors. Excellent menu choices, the food is delicious and staff excellent. It was a shame that the fires were not lit on a cool day but this did not make our visit any less enjoyable.

Popped in for a spot of lunch after walking the moors. Fantastic pub out in the moors. Quite small so shared a table. I had a ploughmans lunch with cheddar ham which was delicious Emily had a hot pork bap. Loved the pub. Highly recommend it View menu

Stayed in the Rugglestone carpark for 2 nights in our Campervan, FOC, lovely, peaceful location. Lovely pub, had a lovely evening meal, food was delicious, generous portions and reasonably priced, highly recommend, would advise booking as gets very busy, Kevin and Mandy from Cornwall

Following my last review in August we have returned, bringing guests from Aotearoa New Zealand to show off a proper pub. We have visited several times over the years including a short break in the pub's adjacent cottage accommodation. Book a table in the cosy and doggy friendly public bar to appreciate the atmosphere. Generous portions of delicious pub grub.
