"Booked a table for Sunday lunch at St Mawes hotel. We were staying at the sister hotel. Table was not ready had to ask twice for an update on when it would be. There seemed to be plenty of staff but sadly they were not engaging or welcoming. The Sunday roast was not available by the time we ordered. Steak burger was scanty sparse not appetising at all one slither of caramelised onion. Vegetarian option equally sparse and no accompanying vegetables. On the web Sunday roast pictures look great sadly not replicated on our visit. At no time were we asked if everything was satisfactory sadly inexperienced staff with lack of engagement has resulted in us feeling totally disappointed. We have eaten here before and always had a good experience but following todays example we would not recommend eating here again. Walkability: Better to of stayed and eaten at Idle Rocks"

Very deceptive from the outside. However once inside it's transformed. A lovely downstairs bar/eating area the upstairs more seating. The food was very good and then there is the hidden cinema with about 30 luxurious seats. Nearby activities: A small coastal town, not busy with friendly locals. Food drinks: Several good places to eat. Rooms: 5

Location: 5/5 Rooms 5/5 Service 5/5 A wonderful stay in a top location. A warm reception from staff on arrival. We made ourselves known to staff behind the bar and were quickly welcomed to the accommodation entrance, which is off the side street adjacent. Lovely room, great service and a good breakfast overlooking the sea. What’s not to like. Rooms: 5

"So let us share our experience, We went in tonight as a family after seeing that it home made food on the drive to sennen and looked online and had a good look at the food available on the menu also looking to see if it was dog friendly and it ticked all the boxes, Upon arrival me and my wife went in 1st to ask if we could have a table for food and if dogs can go inside and staff were a little unsure but they confirmed we could upon asking for a table for 7 but one in a pram he said we don’t have the availability to cater I was looking at a table big enough and eventually said that this table was available whilst being seated we had 2 table one clean and the 2nd just been finished with so needed a clean but he came and cleaned both tables and he squirted the cleaner on a clean table and the over spray bounced off the table and went over our selfs then we were handed a menu freshly printed A4 paper thrown on the table (WET TABLE) so they stuck to the table upon agreeing what we wanted we went to the bar within 2-3 mins of being seated we knew what we wanted and when we asked for the meal it was OUT OF STOCK (Sunday lunch) ok fair so as I was with a family member at the bar I quickly rushed back to the table to ask my daughter of an alternative she wasn’t happy, So I made a meal up of all the extras on the menu so I went back to the bar to find my family member ordered 2 fish and chips then I realised my wife also wanted Sunday lunch so I quickly rushed back to ask her what she wanted and went back to the bar just as my family member left and asked for fish and chips was also sold out also! 99% of the menu was SOLD OUT this should of been discussed upon arrival not as we were ordering I run and operate my own business and this isn’t how I would treat my customers this isn’t how an establishment should be ran! Even when I was standing trying to order a member of staff was standing there arm against the wall doing nothing while customers are standing waiting to be served! So we decided not to eat and my family member went back to the bar to ask for a refund as we couldn’t eat as a family and the staff were iffy about offering a refund but 10 minutes later they did refund my family member as it became a scene for other people as they could see what had happened! This establishment should be call the 1st and late time you come here! We ended up walking to the chip shop down the road for food we are very disappointed in this company and establishment! For anyone who wants to eat please make sure they HAVE STOCK how can this establishment run without stock? Never again tonight they lost over £200 revenue due to this situation!"
