"From the moment we were seated at our table, it felt rushed. We were immediately asked to order drinks before we even had a chance to take off our coats. Our food order was taken efficiently, as was our wine order. However, there were minimal check-ins to see if everything was okay, and we were not given the opportunity to order more drinks, dessert, or coffee. It truly felt like they were trying to rush us out the door. Unfortunately, we will not be returning as the food was not good enough to make up for the lack of service. It was evident that everything, including the cooking, was rushed. It's a shame because it seems like there is genuine talent in both the kitchen and the service staff, but they are being pressured to prioritize speed over quality."

Appalling service, incredibly slow, orders incorrect and very expensive. Much better options in centre of Belfast.

A long awaited lunch with old friends. Great welcome on arrival. Able to sit outside and have a drink before we went in for our meal. Food excellent and the staff were charming, attentive and friendly. No pressure to vacate our table as restaurant wasn’t busy. A great lunch with great staff View menu

Been there yesterday with my husband and daughter… upon arrival we had to clean our table which was extremely dirty. Waited for 20 minutes to be served, noone even bothered to serve us. One of the waitresses came out to bring drinks to another table, saw us and completely disregarded. Very disappointed.

My husband and I dined at this restaurant on Saturday night and enjoyed a fantastic meal. The dishes were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. While the service was a bit slow, it didn't detract from our experience. In fact, my husband mentioned that the lamb dish he had was the best he's ever had at a restaurant.

A last minute choice as our intended restaurant was closed due to a breach of Covid regs. We were a walk in but had no problem getting a table. Service was efficient and friendly just had a light lunch 3 starters between two,of us all excellent. The hummus and baguette was fantastic. Very high quality bread. Highly recommended. View menu

I had an amazing dinner at this restaurant. The food was outstanding. The combination of Tuna and crab spring rolls was delicious. Both our main dishes, the curried monkfish and the cod, were cooked perfectly. I saved room for dessert and the Strawberry Creme Brulee was absolutely amazing. The service was excellent and I can't wait to go back again.

The service was lovely. I had received a call the Morning of our reservation to confirm we were still going. (They had a lot of no shows the night before, how rude can people get not have the courtesy of ringing the restaurant to let them know they weren’t coming! anyway the staff were lovely and very knowledgeable about drinks and food etc. They allowed us to order starters as our main course. I would honestly recommend you try here.

"enjoyed our evening in james st it was the best culinary experience of our trip! we had been happy to see this evening as we had a few hit-N-seals in the course of our trip to belfast. we were not disappointed and had the fabulous evening. we were quickly welcomed and sitting. the place is beautiful and spacious. revitalized and environment. the bar is great and would like to come back, only for drinks at the bar sometime. we ordered cocktails immediately. an Irish gin negroni and a traditional old fashion. my neger was absolutely excellent. I think the old fashion could have been done with real sugar cubes and not sugar syrup, but it wasn't too bad. we were quick to choose our wein. we chose a beautiful juicy red, the cline, the old vine zinfandel, 2019. to begin we had the ham hock terrine with piccalilli champ bread and some scallops with boar bell. the hanging-hock court was the best ham-hock I had. the homemade piccalilli was something else. really nice crispy and sharp sharp to help cut through the hammock and the champbrot was delicious crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. the scallops and black bells were disappointing, as they lacked no salt or genuine aroma or texture between them. we still ate it and shared the rest of my hammock. we both decided to go for the co. tyrone 270g fillet steak with sides of champ and truffle parmesan chips. red wine and pfeffer sauce. they were fantastic steaks. Actually, I didn't think I would finish mine, but I did. I have met the right choice with the jus and the truffle chips. they went so well together, the dryness of the parmesan and sweet, slightly greasy of the jus. the steaks were perfectly cooked. a medium and my medium rare. fantastic aroma on the grilled outside of the steak and beautiful texture when they pierce. we both agreed that the champ was the best champ we ever cost. it was hot, soft, so well aromatized with hot butter on the top of the copper serving pot melt. it was really the most incredible champ. I was too full of dessert. but my sample ordered the sticky toffee pudding sundae. the team was friendly enough to make me an espresso martini that was both decaf and not a sugar syrup. it was brilliant. we both managed to work our way, although a surprisingly light sticky toast desserts on Sunday. the team was fantastic. very friendly and chatting to us. the bar team did not stop, I had the pleasure of standing and watching them make a great selection of drinks and cocktails. the waiting staff were also very friendly when they check in with us at comfortable places to ensure that we were in order. we felt very well looked around. the service was very good, we didn't feel any hurry, it felt like such a free time in this restaurant. when we come back to belfast, we will be back in absolute terms and we will definitely recommend others. Thank you."
