The Alex - Menu

Great menu, service and table thank you for a great lunch with my mother and kids. I was also pleasantly surprised to get a booking on the Friday before.

We have had a meal there today we had catch of the day and must say the best fish and chips I have had staff very helpful very full so had to wait for meal well worth the wait 5 out of 5 will use again

Owned by the same individual as Bencotto, however, the food at this restaurant is of a much superior quality. It is definitely worth the price, and the menu is quite diverse, making it suitable for those with gluten sensitivities as well. View menu

Found The Alex on the boardwalk in Felixstowe. Although you order at the bar all the staff was very friendly and the food was served fast. Fish and chips were the best I had in the UK. Great atmosphere. If you are looking for a great meal this is the place.

The staff are generally great at the Alex, but the food, even basic stuff like a bowl of chips, can be very variable. We used to love going there for the nachos, but even these have changed from the best I’ve ever had, to the worst. It’s basically just a bag of nachos tipped on a plate, with hardly any cheese and even harder to find pulled pork. It really isn’t good enough for what they charge. We’ll continue to go for drinks but will go elsewhere for food.

The Alex is a great cafe on beach road overlooking the sea, in Felixstowe. Parking is a black art in Felixstowe, especially when the weather is warm, but the cafe benefits from both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is good standard cafe style fayre and it is possible to even ask for a few things that might not be on the menu (such as bacon sandwiches). The chocolate milkshake isn't bad either my only complaint is that it is a bit small! The cafe also gets a tick for being dog friendly (for those seated outside). We popped into the downstairs cafe-bar for a spot of lunch whilst running errands in felixstowe. The atmosphere was really good (for a dreary monday lunch.. and the place was really clean and well looked after. Had a couple of beers and ham, egg and chips each for lunch. Food was excellent, chunky hand cut ham, thick and chunky chips. Cookies and ice cream for dessert! The food and service were first class. Absolutely fantastic all round. The only slight fly in the ointment was the unpleasent odour in the gents. but then it is a toilet after all! Prices are not cheap, but certainly not expensive either. Highly reccomended.

The location is perfect for leisurely Sunday afternoons, with the option to take a stroll along the seafront after your meal. The upstairs restaurant offers a more upscale experience, with a peaceful atmosphere, dedicated waitstaff, and a sophisticated menu. The outdoor area is heated, attracting both smokers and dog walkers and giving the bar a vibrant and energetic vibe.
