"We visited twice last week as we were on a holiday on the Llangollen canal. On entering we were met by two friendly staff, who chatted to us as we ordered drinks, I had noticed the Bikers welcome sign outside , and as an ex-biker was pleased to see it. We myself, wife and 3 grandsons) ordered meals and drinks. I had the fish and chips, wife and eldest GS had chicken and two younger GS the kids I think) lasagne. All meals well cooked and the 2 youngest jokingly lick their plates ugh). Bill came to £38 plus two more rounds of drinks. The food and staff were all excellent but the view towards the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is stunning. We have been to some drinking places with great views around the World in Australia,USA and Europe) but this is one of the most picturesque I have seen. We revisited the following day on our return down the cut, but just had drinks, as we had eaten in Trevor. See review of Telford Inn."

My wife and I had a light lunch here as the mid point of our walk from Llangollen.

Turned up at the No1 rated pub for food on our canal barge trip, pub has good reviews.

Lovely views of the acqeduct and the canal below. Worth the walk to get there so well worth a visit.

Food and service was excellent. My husband had gammon which he said was tasty and cooked to perfection. I had the best belly pork I have ever eaten and sometimes paid twice the price) really tender and served with a delicious apple chutney that complimented the pork superbly. View menu

Visited with wife and two grandchildren on a couple of occasions during a week in Llangollen. Great patio area outside with a good view. Friendly staff, good veggie choice (as the two kids are vegitarian)Nice for a walk over the aqueduct and a pint or food on a sunny evening. I would recommend it

Nice little pub we just popped in to sit on the balcony and admire the view, which didn't disappoint. Football was on the TV and it brought the locals in. Nice atmosphere in here and a great selection of drinks. Shame about the sparse parking but not a lot could be done where its situated. Parked up the road and just a short walk to here.

This is quite an old pub and rather basic, it was empty when we visited so not much atmosphere, it does have a good balcony with a lovely view of the canal. There were just two of us and we had fish and chips and pasta Bolognese and both meals were really nice, the barmaid was really pleasant as well. If we were in the area again we would pay another visit. View menu

Visited with a group of friends, 8 of us in total. Choice of 3 excellent real ales, including our Black Country favourite, Bathams. Plenty of choice of food. Most of us had starters, including whitebait, king prawns Calamari. The mains were also superb, I had sea bass which is the best I've had. Friendly staff, excellent food and drink. What more can you want from a pub. Will definitely be visiting again soon. Booking is advisable as it can get quite busy.

Thought we would have a evening meal here. Went into a very unwelcome greeting from a very unfriendly senior staff member. Asked if we could have an evening meal we were told very rudely that we would have to wait for a long time. As it was getting on in the evening we decided to stay. Other Welsh people who came in after us and ordered their meals were served well before us. In fact we waited for over an hour for our meals to be served. It seems to me that the senior staff member had a very anti. English bias and does not deserve to have a business at all. It is a pity because it is in a great location
