"This was our first visit to this wonderful restaurant, and it did not disappoint. We started our meal with two large glasses of wine, followed by a delicious Sunday roast with roast beef and a side of cauliflower. For dessert, we indulged in something sweet, and we finished our meal with two coffees. The staff was attentive and polite, and we never felt rushed during our dining experience. The cleanliness of the entire restaurant was also very impressive. We were fortunate enough to find parking right outside, even though it was a Sunday—on weekdays, parking is available in the Tesco lot. We were more than happy to pay £77 for two, considering the high quality of the food we enjoyed. Overall, it was excellent value for money and a fantastic dining experience. We will definitely be returning!"

We had our Valentines meal here. The food is just amazing. Never will I understand how someone can make kale taste so incredible. And their steaks are unbeatable. Every time gets better and better.

I absolutely love dining here! I enjoyed a wonderful meal and discovered several delicious drinks that surpassed even cocktails. The staff is friendly and attentive, always willing to assist with anything you need. The food is fantastic, with a wide variety of choices and generous portions. I can't wait for my next visit!

This place is a pricey but excellent restaurant. Its worth every penny spent. Amazing cocktails, great atmosphere and food I would expect to find in a Michelin star restaurant. Between myself and my wife we had the mussels and rabbit croquette to start followed by chicken and the fillet steak. Everything was prepared and cooked to perfection. If we are ever coming this way again this will be the first place we book.

at first eating in the chophouse and our table loved eating. the steak was one of the best I ate. a local restaurant with a great atmosphere and a great service. most restaurants in these days add to a service fee and surprisingly they do not. we always type independently, but it is always good to have the option! I would like to thank the manager louise who has solved a small problem that has occurred after leaving the restaurant. she was very professional. I'm glad to come back soon! View menu

What a beautiful restaurant! My friend and I decided to stop by for lunch after reading so many positive reviews, and we were not disappointed! The atmosphere is both cozy and elegant, and I loved the way the venue was set up. The food was fantastic; we started with the fried calamari and the mushroom dish, and everything was delicious! For our main courses, we had the steak and flatbread, which were both excellent. A big thank you to our waitstaff, Harry and Milly, who made our experience absolutely perfect! Highly recommended!

Well presented and prepared food from a well sourced, local produce menu. Good wine selection and some very nice locally crafted gins and beers. Service was very good. Overall, good value for money in a pleasant surrounding. Still the best eats in Braintree by some way. Only gripe (nothing the owners could really do) was a table of extremely loud, very drunk and foul mouthed people. At times, a bouncer does come in handy. The waiter serving them had the patience of a Saint way beyond the point at which I would have delivered a slapping. Top marks.

"We came here on a last minute hunt to find a Sunday roast with family without much expectations. However when entering its a lovely set up and we were greeted by Lee and Alison who looked after us for the meal who just to begin were absolutely brilliant, they really care about the customers and make this place extra special. Now for the food you can get a 2 or 3 course meal so everybody made various selections but all had starters. Most went for the Aarancina which isn't your usual starter with a Sunday roast but for here it packs alot of flavour and is a great way to start the meal. They have a great selection of alcoholic beverages I went for a simple beer. For the main roasts we had a variety of meats I wanted the pork but sadly they had no crackling which was half the reason for ordering but if I am being honest after eating the meal it wasn't missed out the meat was tasty full of flavour but the sides were the key. The roast potatoes were of a top level usually when you eat out they are never as good as eating at home, the Yorkshire were huge and tasty, gravy brilliant with plenty to go around and lots of veg and cauliflower cheese on the side. Honestly this was excellent a really good roast probably the best I have ever ate in a resteraunt. Some of the others had the lamb shank which was huge and had great feedback but the beef was great and so was everything else. So yes check it out eat in and eat some great food in a nice setting with absolutely brilliant service you won't be disappointed."
