"I was a big fan of the Coach house in Humberstone, having frequented this establishment many times, over many years, NOT ANYMORE!, we arrived at 2.25pm on this August bank holiday Monday, To be fair, lady on reception warned us that we would have to wait until 3.pm before they could take our order, and we were aware that it was a Bank Holiday, so no problem with that, however we later found out that what the lady neglected to tell us, was that from them taking our order, we would then have to wait additional 45 minutes before being served, after a patient 50-55 minute wait after taking our order, with Sports Bar and Terrace barely 1/3 full at this point, I left my table in search of our waitress, to politely ask if we could have an indication of when we may expect our food (found 6 of them all huddled around the till), at which point a waitress I'd not seen before appeared to want to take charge and argue with me over how long we had actually been waiting.... who knows when the food finally arrived since at that point we left, food was prepaid due to us being on the Terrace, I did consider asking for a credit however i didn't fancy dealing with the argumentative waitress any longer, we were just pleased to get out of there, I won't be returning, I think the Coach house will be more in need of my £40 than me, BEWARE standards are slipping!"

Visited with close family on a Tuesday. First time back here after 10 years. The place hasn't changed offering good food with decent portions.

A very disappointing experience! Went to see the Robbie Williams tribute and were booked in for 7.30pm. The meal arrived and was OK but we had to wait for 2 hours before the tribute act came on stage. The noise level whilst eating was unacceptable (85 95 decibels) and the act sang many songs from other artists eg George Michael, U2 etc. I cannot recommend this place as it was over 50% full of very intoxicated people. When we arrived the door staff immediately apologised for the noise level but assured us it would get better. To keep it simple the food was OK but if you want to spend your evening in a place where you can't have a conversation across a table for 2 because of the noise and share a room with dozens of drunk people then this could be for you. I suppose the big burley security guards on the door should have given us a clue!

With some, but partial reluctance, as I 'm an advocate of supporting local businesses, I went to the Coach House to watch a George Micheal tribute act last night and I have to say that it was an extremely, extremely expensive waste of time. 'George ' was very good, but the night was oversubscribed (hence the title profit before people) and that fact was actually admitted by the 'bar manager ' (who, incidentally, refused to give his name and refused to be quoted). People paid their hard earnt money for a table and food to have an enjoyable evening, but when the act came on, people who paid just to stand covered the front of the stage, then round the side and totally blocked our view of the ac...

"Attended a family wedding here recently. The restaurant, the location and the facilities were top notch, I think you would have to work hard to improve on what they have achieved here. However, the bar staff in the first floor function suite leave much to be desired ! Their attitude and reaction to the wedding guests during the wedding reception and evening event should definatly be improved ! It began with the sullen faces of the waiting staff during the reception , most should learn how to smile only one lady waitress blonde hair new starter was polite and smiled give her a job in staff training We asked for a bread roll during lunch, to be told, only for guests who have ordered soup ! Eventually after asking again they brought two over for the brides father... The evening event was a challenge when we struggled to understand why the part bottles of wine had disappeared from the table, when most of the guests were drinking spirits and beer etc. The penny , or should I say the C £17,000 dropped when the waitresses were removing full glasses of drinks from the table without checking! When challenged , the nonchalant response was to place the drinks back on the table and march off like petulant teenager! Our dismay was amplified the following day during a conversation with the restaurant manager told us , that 's what we do, If you need to keep your opened bottles of wine on the table you need to let us know , otherwise they will be removed! oh, so the wine is cleared along with the newly poured drinks too then? I don 't think we, or anyone else we know have ever been to a restaurant and even thought to tell the waiting staff not to take the half bottles of wine away before they have been emptied ? This usual practice was not discussed when we booked ! A cynic could suspect they re sell the newly recovered wine by the glass. This said, the manager did compensate with two bottles of the brides choice , so thanks for recognising the issue. But please consider NOT removing part bottles etc without checking in the first place."
