"Lovely old village pub in Detling, near Maidstone. Friendly, welcoming bar staff. Good selection of beers, wine and spirits. Very good menu at very reasonable prices. I had chicken pie which was delicious and my wife had fish and chips. The fish was battered fresh haddock and was so big that she could eat many of the chips. The service was good, and the food was standard pub fare—it was decent. Unfortunately, the pub was quite empty, but it was fireworks night, so that’s understandable. Ratings: Food: 4, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 4.

I had a lovely lunch with friends at this charming village pub. The food was delicious and well worth the price. The atmosphere was great, and there’s even a lovely garden for nice weather. However, parking is quite limited, so it’s best suited for those who can find a spot. I would definitely recommend this place and would happily return. Thank you!
