"Food was lovely, then a gentleman enters to sit with presumably his son, some 3 footsteps from the door and is interrogated about wearing a mask by one staff member in his face and another shouting from the kitchen. Excruciating. A quiet, 'hi sir, are you exempt from wearing a mask? ' would have been appropriate instead of causing the old boy to have a red face in front of many customers. The food is lovely but the service has steadily declined, with an attitude of inconvenience about having to serve people, in particular from the female server of short stature. So glad was only in to spend a Christmas present voucher, we will never return to the cottage get out of the service industry if you can 't handle the constant inconvenience of customers."

Popped in for breakfast for the first time spotless, friendly staff and great food. Big breakfast was tasty and eggs Benedict were fab.

Just had an amazing brunch at the Cottage. Food was amazing, staff as friendly as ever and to top it off the sun was out so we were able to sit outside

The service at this restaurant was very poor. We had to wait a long time for just 2 coffees. We were seated inside but waited until all other customers outside were served first. Not impressed at all!

We had a wonderful experience at this cafe. We enjoyed brunch there twice during our stay in Greenock, a lovely town. The Eggs Benedict with Stornoway black pudding on tattie scones was a real treat, with perfectly poached eggs. The staff was fantastic. View menu

Went for breakfast, place is really busy but the atmosphere is amazing, girls are all so friendly and have a smile for everyone, food arrived pretty quickly, I had eggs benedict with Stornoway black pudding and potato scones instead of muffin, partner had a small breakfast with a plain scone for afters, food was amazing and the tea was piping hot. Will return again soon

This restaurant can be a great option for food as I frequently visit it on weekends. However, when I ordered breakfast and an iced frappe for delivery this week (just after being discharged from the hospital), I was disappointed. The total came to £16 for a breakfast and a milkshake. The breakfast arrived cold and the frappe had melted into a milkshake. Despite living just a 3 minute walk away on the same street, they charged £4 for delivery and took nearly 2 hours to bring the order. Overall, I experienced poor service.
