Such, amazing food. Every time we come we are not disappointed. All. 4.of us had an amazing meal. Even the puddings are gorgeous and beautifully presented. 5 stars for us every time!

Excellent food and service, we had a family meal with 2 young children and although they were busy, the food and service was great. Lovely place and people, and we look forward to going again.

We popped in on the off chance that they had a free table and were very lucky as it was Mother's Day. The staff and owner (French) were great. The food was exquisite, we wanted something vegan, and there wasn't much choice, but that doesn't matter when what they do have is so good! View menu

Went here for dinner. My husband had the French onion soup (which he had had on a previous occasion) and said it was not as good as the first time he had ordered it. I just had a steak onion baguette which was pretty average. Service was okay but no-one checked to see if everything was okay with our meals.

What a little gem of a restaurant. We had lunch for my husband’s birthday and were blown away by the quality of the food. I had the asparagus soup to start and I have to say it is probably the best soup I have ever eaten so full of flavour. My husband had the Gruyère soufflé which was also superb. The mains were fantastic too the sauce on the chicken fricassee was out of this world. We couldn’t manage dessert as we were so full but we’ll definitely be back!

Have stopped at The Forresters for drinks a few times in the past but haven’t eaten. My cousin lives locally and had last had a meal here before lockdown so thought we would give it a go. First class service from what seemed like the only waiter serving at least six tables. The food was amazing especially the crab cakes, soufflet, duck and beef bourguignon. Worth saving some room for the excellent deserts too. Running a restaurant in the wilds of County Durham is challenging at the best of times, so well done Frank for keeping the dream alive! View menu
