""I had lunch at the Oak Room and found the bread to be quite hard; it seems there wasn't enough butter to spread on it. The king prawn tempura would have been better if the shells and heads had been removed beforehand. However, all the main dishes were very good. The sherry trifle lacked a sufficient cream layer and had way too much fruit sponge. On a positive note, the service was excellent, which is what I would expect for a £500 lunch at such a grand restaurant. I appreciated that the round table was moved away from the wall, allowing the staff to reach each customer more easily. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would rate it 8/10 for the meal and 5/5 for service. Thank you!""

The gluten free spaghetti at this restaurant is fantastic! I opted to have it served in a tagliatelle dish and it was incredibly tasty. It didn't taste like it was gluten free at all, it was just perfect! They also offer a variety of gluten free dessert options. View menu

I went for Afternoon Tea with my wife, thanks to my sister-in-law. The parking was convenient (they have a Blue Badge Scheme), and the waiting staff were very attentive. The tea was delightful, and they were so generous that we ended up taking some cakes home in a box. We were seated indoors, which was comfortable, though the table could have been a bit larger. Overall, I would rate the service a 4 and the location a 5. Highlights of the hotel include its luxury, romantic atmosphere, and tranquility.

I just had another fantastic three-night stay at my favorite hotel in the UK! I was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade, which was a lovely bonus. The breakfasts and dinners in the Garden Room continued to meet the high standards I've come to expect in terms of quality, service speed, and the friendliness of the staff. The attentive and friendly service is truly what sets the George apart, from the welcoming doorman and reception team to the bar and restaurant staff, and let’s not forget the housekeeping team! I can’t wait to return soon.

"Bank Holiday Monday in Stamford. Most places are shut, and the town is a lot quiter than usual... My wife is MADLY hungry, and insists we choose somewhere QUICKLY (this isn 't a request! , so we head into the very first place we come across No1 Kitchen. We 'd glanced at the menu on the way in, but our only real concern was that it was open, and it had food. A very friendly waitress showed us to our table, in a lovely corner spot, and I availed myself of the facilities, which were spacious and pristinely clean (something of a 'yardstick ' for us in terms of a well looked after restaurant... The waitress was soon back for our drinks order, and once she 'd delivered our Cokes we went for the Hot and Spicy Burger, with twisty fries, and a Mediterranean Lamb Burger, with corn on the cob. This too arrived promptly, with various Heinz condiments, and everything was hot and fresh! Both burgers were utterly SPLENDID, and we agreed they were The Real Thing, and particulary suited to discerning adults. There were PLENTY of twisty fries, which were crispy, well presented, and nicely seasoned. The burgers were deceptively filling, and my wife couldn 't quite manage hers, but even whilst eating we were planning our next visit, to try out other burger options. Overall, this was nothing short of a Perfect Lunchtime Visit, and we 'd enthusiastically recommend it to other burger lovers! Even if I tried my hardest, there was absolutely NOTHING to fault about this gorgeous restaurant, and we 're amazed to have never seen/visited before. It won 't be long before we put this right..."
